I recently got the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM, and I’m experiencing a weird power issue. Here’s what’s happening:
The Issue
When I turn off the monitor normally, I hear a mechanical circuit shutdown sound (which I assume is normal since the power adapter is built into the monitor).
But after some random period, I hear a circuit activation sound, and the monitor’s power light turns back on.
When this happens, one of two things occurs:
The monitor enters standby mode with an orange light.
The monitor turns on along with the red laser lights at the bottom and stays that way.
In both cases, the screen doesn’t fully turn on, but the monitor is clearly receiving power.
It seems there is no way to turn fully off without unplugging the power chord.
What I’ve Tried
Waited more than 20 minutes → The monitor never turned off.
Factory reset → Didn’t fix it.
Disabled the Neo Proximity Sensor → No change.
Disconnected all cables except power (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB) → Issue still persists.
Checked ASUS’s website for firmware updates → I’m on the latest version / there is no firmware yet.
What Could Be Happening?
I know the monitor has an automatic pixel cleaning feature, but this behavior happens even long after it should be done.
It seems like a power circuit issue, since it randomly turns on by itself after being shut down.
Has anyone else experienced this with the PG27UCDM? Any solutions or workarounds? Would appreciate any insights.
Thanks!

Edit: it seems like it is stuck in infinite screen refresh state or something. It did 9 refresh in a hour. It is not normal right? Here is the capture

found a fix: Turning off just the computer puts the monitor into standby mode first. Then, it flashes orange five times, and the lasers turn back on again, never fully shutting off. It gets stuck in this state.

After flashing five times again in few minutes (possibly indicating the completion of pixel refresh), I can finally turn the monitor and the lights off manually. This way, it seems like it won’t turn itself back on. I don’t know if this is an intended design, but I find it very absurd! I still don't know if this unit faulty or not

I have the same problem. I turn off the PC, then the monitor. The monitor light goes out, but then the monitor turns back on again and the light is orange. After that I can turn the monitor off again and it looks as if it is now off. The next morning the orange light is on again, which means the monitor is back on or in standby without me having done anything. The monitor just doesn't turn off.

I did everything you can imagine included turning off auto ınput detection. There is no fix. Maybe it is firmware problem but I am still not sure. Okay let me know please, good luck.

I also came here with the same problem. Whenever I shut off the display, the power indicator blinks first which I assume is the pixel cleaning but then stays orange for the whole night even after I wake up. Hopefully there is a fix. I just want the monitor to power down and stay off.

We apologize for the issue you are experiencing. To clarify, if the monitor enters standby mode and the power indicator light is on, the ROG Logo will flash five times after being in standby mode for five minutes, then pixel cleaning will begin, which lasts about 5-6 minutes. After completion, the ROG Logo will flash five times again. This is one of the methods for pixel cleaning.
We would like to confirm the following:
If possible, please provide a video of the issue occurring to help our team confirm the problem (please provide an MP4 file). Thank you.
