PG27UCDM Pixel Refresh Not Ending

Got this amazing monitor a week ago 03/13 and have been loving the image quality. Every 4-5 hrs I have been getting a Pixel Cleaning message so I have been confirming every single one (5-6 by now), but this past one showed Pixel Cleaning and seems to be doing a Panel Refresh instead. I have been staring at this monitor flashing blue, red, white, green for the past 45 mins. wondering when it will end. I have seen other posts on here and Reddit about issues with these cleanings but am slowly losing my mind on when this will end or if it’s in an infinite loop. Google says it can take up to an hour on older OLEDs but these should only be 5-6 minutes. Any help or experience would be  appreciated.

UPDATE: After an hour and 15 mins. it was still doing Panel Refresh. I decided I was shutting down pc to turn of surge protector for the monitor. After I turned off the the pc though, the monitor automatically went into standby mode and stopped the panel refresh. Decided to turn on pc without unplugging the monitor and the monitor returned to normal. Fingers crossed this won’t happen again.

Hi @Speedmonster001 @TheMrSuperKW ,

Thank you for your inquiry. To better understand the display pixel cleaning issue you are experiencing, please provide the following information:

  1. Problem occurrence frequency confirmation:
    • Does the problem occur every time you perform pixel cleaning?
  2. Restart problem elimination confirmation:
    • Does restarting the display usually resolve the problem?
  3. Pixel cleaning execution method:
    • Are you manually performing the pixel cleaning function, or is it automatically performed after the display enters standby mode?
    • Please describe which pixel cleaning method triggers the problem.

Please kindly provide the above information so that we can further analyze the problem. Thank you for your cooperation.

I have experienced this very issue, multiple times.

  1. Problem Occurrence:  I would say 1 out of every 10 times it will occur.
  2. Restart:  Yes, restarting the computer returns the monitor back to normal.  So does unplugging the monitor from power and plugging it in again.
  3. Pixel Cleaning Method:  Manual, when it pops up on my display that it's time to clean (Ever 8 hours).
