PG27UCDM broken proximity sensor - Firmware 102

On the latest firmware update, my PG27UCDM proximity sensor no longer works.

EDIT: Turning the monitor off and on fixes the sensor. But only temporarily. I'm not sure what causes it to stop working.

If I set the 'Tailored Mode' distance, it says '0cm', and doesn't measure anything. The front is clean, nothing blocks it. My phone camera usually sees a pink dot, where the sensor is. But this pink dot no longer lights up - even when it measures tailored mode.

The monitor no longer turns off after 5 minutes, even though it's set to 5 minutes. It stays on. This happens on tailored mode, or 60cm, etc. With nothing in front of the screen. It stays turned on.

This was not an issue on the original firmware. Why is my proximity sensor now broken?

regarding the issue you're experiencing, we would like to confirm if you mean that after turning on the sensor, the display never turns off automatically no matter how long you set the timer for?

In firmware version 102, we increased the sensitivity of the sensor and changed the sensor activation time from 1/5/10 minutes to 5/10/15 minutes. 

If a user sets it to five minutes, the display will dim according to this setting if no user activity is detected within those five minutes.

We suggest that you try extending the sensor's response time to the maximum of 15 minutes, and also ensure that your movement is within the sensor's detection range. Please check if the screen dims automatically after you leave the display for 15 minutes. Thank you for your help.

i honestly HATE this change... i wanted to keep it at 1 min... cause if its 5 min might as well just use the windows sleep stuff...

Hi, I can send a video to demonstrate. But this is the issue:

The sensor randomly turns off - and doesn't turn on unless I restart the monitor. I can see with my phone camera. The sensor should light up pink on camera, but sometimes, it's turned off. The monitor will stay turned on.

When the sensor is off, and I run proximity tailored setup - It measures 0cm distance. And the sensor is still off. If I turn the monitor off and back on, the sensor works again.

Hi, here is a simple photo of the issue. As you can see, the sensor is turned off (camera can see this). It measures 0cm on proximity. 

Then if I turn the monitor off, and on again, it glows pink on camera (sensor is working). I circled this in red. It can measure distance again. But this doesn't last for long.
