With the latest firmware update ASUS has included some new controls for the PG27AQN, one of them being "VIBRANCE" within the "Color" Menu. This control (VIBRANCE) is automatically raised to 158 (WELL ABOVE the default 100) when selecting G-SYNC Esports mode.
This is good, that is what you want for G-SYNC Esports mode. But when you DISABLE G-SYNC Esports mode you are STUCK with VIBRANCE at 158. BEFORE THE FIRMWARE UPDATE this did not happen.
BEFORE this firmware update if you changed to any other mode (I use RACING for everyday use) the VIBRANCE returns to normal saturation levels at a setting of 100 (I assume since this control was hidden from us before). Now is not the case. Please release another firmware update to fix this. I'm tired of using the fragile joystick to set this back to 100 OVER AND OVER now.
Also please give us documentation on the new controls. What kind of firmware release has no documentation explaining how to use new settings like ULMB 2 PULSE WIDTH OFFSET. Like we are just supposed to intuit what this does? No mention of VIBRANCE at all either.
Finally, there is no explanation to the changes of the highly controversial "ASPECT CONTROL" mode which, in the past, has NOT WORKED with games like Valorant who force the active signal resolution to match the maximum resolution of your display. Now it seems when you select 25" crop mode it will FORCE a resolution change in the operating system.
Can we get some clarification? There are 2 new modes within ASPECT CONTROL as well (STRETCHED) with no explanation as to how they work or what they do with the signal. I selected stretched and got some very strange active signal resolutions.

Forget about that, we're abandoned, don't buy asus next time, and happy new year!

I noticed another problem:
If I use the SDR mode without Gsync and switch on the variable backlight (level 3) and then set ULMB 2 in the monitor's OSD, the variable backlight remains switched on (which shouldn't be the case) and is grayed out in the OSD.
I noticed this in Hogwarts Legacy when loading the game, when the edges of the screen became dark and the middle of the screen became bright when ULMB2 was active.
Hope you're doing well.

I think you are on to something with this idiotic "vibrance" setting. I have been slowly going crazy since I updated the FW a couple months ago due to the weird colors on the monitor. This vibrance setting was giving everyone a yellowish skin tone like they had jaundice ! It looks about the same now when I drag a video / picture across my two monitors now with it set at 100.
Whoever set it to default at 158 and stay there when you switch profiles screwed up big time. 158 vibrance looks like pure dog poop.
Asus should really fix this - not everyone wants clown world colors on their monitor.

Agreed, the yellow tint is ****** tiring to the eyes, the only way I found to fix it is to crank up all colors except yellow to 155 -190 in Six-axis Saturation menu, but anyway playing on maps where yellow is the main color is a real pain (mirage in cs2, rust in cod, bind in val, etc).

Is there a way to revert the firmware update? I updated yesterday to try out the ULMB2 offset and now the 25" mode isn't working correctly anymore. On MCM103 when I set the game to 1332p or 1080p the screen was scaled to 25". After the update to MCM104 I have to manually switch in between "27" Default" and "25" Default" aspect ratio, and even then a game set to 1080p isn't scaled as expected to 25" but way smaller. Please fix it with an update or show me how to revert the firmware for now.

This is the biggest issue for me. We've gone from a good firmware (really the only thing that made me upgrade was the hope that they’d removed the annoying popup about setting the resolution to 1080p or 1332p every time it felt like it) to this one which to me feels like a downgrade, and we have no option to downgrade.

Yeah, my joystick broke again. Even if they update the firmware, my fix for the joystick makes me not want to explore this monitor anymore. It's crippled heavily at this point so even if they fix it I can't really say I'll be excited anymore. Sell us the joysticks ASUS or stop designing them so that they have no movement limiters and can snap the shaft when something strikes them. It's intentionally designed this way, I can see it every time I have to fix it. Big shame on you after the GN investigation fiasco.
Sure wish ASUS would stop paying lip service to us and actually care.

It's beyond belief that this doesn't exist. I guess Gamers Nexus will just have to keep pressuring them or something. It doesn't do much good it seems though. Still waiting on replacement parts being easy to obtain and not have to jump through hoops.

I've already given up hope for a new firmware, it's been too long but still no answer, our model is already EOL for them, so at least now we've experienced that ASUS is currently not that good as before.
