PG27AQDP no 480hz available

Every time I turn on PC, I NEVER have 480hz setting in windows/nvidia.

Only in rare occasions there is 360hz as max option, and it that case from monitor settings if I switch from DP 1.4 to 1.2 and back to 1.4, 480hz option appears.

However almost all the time I have max 240 hz available and then it takes multiple restarts, switching DSC on/off and whatnot. It takes me almost 1 hour after PC is on to reach 480hz and I'm not even sure what exactly helps.

I use included DP cable, VRR is off, ELMB is off, DSC is ON, DP stream is 1.4. My GPU is RTX 4090, monitor FW is MCM104. Resetting to factory settings did nothing.

Hello DREAMARZ

Make sure you have Performance mode enabled in the monitor OSD.

Open the monitor OSD, System Setup, Power Setting.

It’s set to performance at all times, otherwise 480hz wouldn’t be possible at all, would it? It’s like DSC is not engaging for some reason. What I usually have to do is turn DSC off / on several times, DP streaming 1.4 > 1.2 > 1.4, trying our different DP ports on GPU, turn monitor on/off and then randomly 480hz option will appear, but it’s annoying to do every time. Would it make sense to reflash FW, even though I’m currently on latest version?

I have this same issue constantly have to switch between 1.2 to 1.4 over and over again to get the 480hz to show up
I am not hardware constrained at all as I am on a 5090 with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but the user exp is not fun at all
