PG27AQDP ELMB COLOR BANDING IN SDR

Color banding occurs on 8BPC and 10BPC using HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4. The firmware is updated to MCM103. Color banding continues to occur while on sRGB Wide Gamut or DCI-P3 mode. Color banding is fixed on MAGENTA, CYAN, and YELLOW colours if ELMB is turned off. I want to highlight this issue so that Asus can find a fix for it. The problem gets annoying if you watch SDR content that displays fire on the screen, and then an issue occurs on the bottom half of the screen, producing color banding.

To better assist you with this issue, we would like to confirm the following:

  1. When did the issue start: When did this issue start occurring? Was it present from the beginning or did it start after a firmware update? If so, please specify the firmware version.
  2. Different scenarios: Have you tried enabling ELMB in other applications or games besides watching videos or browsing the web? Does the banding issue occur in those scenarios as well?
  3. Factory reset: We recommend that you reset the display to its factory settings to rule out any incorrect settings.
  4. System information: Please provide your system information, including:
    Display model:
    Display firmware version:
    Connected computer model:
    Operating system version:
    Graphics card model and driver version:
  5. If possible, please provide source of the image showing color banding for our reference.

1. It was present from the beginning. Firmware version is MCM103. 

2. The banding occurs in other applications such as Netflix, AppleTV on windows as well. Always on same colours YELLOW, MAGENTA. 

3. The display was factory resetted before to combat the issue. 

4. Display Model is PG27AQDP, FIRMWARE IS MCM103, Computer is Windows 11 - Ryzen 9900X, 3080 12GB ASUS TUF OC, B650E-F ASUS STRIX GAMING WIFI, HyperX DDR5 5600MHZ. Graphics card driver version is 572.16. Websites used for the monitor testing include; https://www.ledr.com/colours/multi.htm

and https://www.maccetera.com/screen/m.html
