PG27AQDM won't finish pixel clean-up and won't stay off when computer is on.

Since a couple of months my PG27AQDM turns on automatically after 30 seconds. Normally when I get away from my PC I turn my monitor off and let my computer on. But now, the monitor just turns itself on.

What also changed is that the pixel clean-up never finishes anymore. The monitor led will puls orange for 30 seconds and then turns red again and my screen turns on. I get no "pixel clean successful" message.

Monitor is connected via DisplayPort 1.4 (using the cable out of the box) directly into my RTX 4808. Using the latest NVidia drivers. (572.16 - game ready drivers)

Things I have tried:

  • Updating Nvidia drivers, clean install
  • Un/replugging all cables
  • Changing input to HDMI (same issues on HDMI)

I truly hope there is a solution for this because I slowly see image retention appearing in grey.

Thank you in advance

Just a small addition:

I also tried to use a different input device other than my PC. Connected a laptop to the HDMI and I get the same issues. Pixel cleaning won't finish and stops after 30 seconds without any message. I now see image retention in normal content.

Hi @jbax ,

Regarding the pixel cleaning issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

  1. You mentioned "PG27AQDM turns on automatically after 30 seconds." Are you manually turning off the monitor's power button or turning off the PC? Please clarify.
  2. If you manually execute pixel cleaning, does it succeed?
  3. If possible, please provide a video of the issue occurring for our reference, and use an MP4 file format.
  4. Does this issue occur with a specific monitor firmware version, or has it always been present? What is the current firmware version?

You can also refer to the FAQ below to check the pixel cleaning process.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Thank you.

Hi @Aureliannn_ROG ,

Thanks for your reply! To answer your questions:

  1. When I turn of my monitor while my PC is still on, the monitor turns itself on after 30 seconds. (This was never the case for 1.5 years but now it suddenly does, no hardware changes)  See video:
  2. No, it won't finish when I manually execute pixel cleaning. See video:
  3. See above videos
  4. This is suddenly happening and on all firmwares. Currently running MCM109.

I also left my monitor on after shutting down my PC to see what happens and after a while it looks like it tries to run a pixel clean mode but again, after 30 seconds the light turns red again and stays red.

Thanks again!

Unfortunately, the issue still persist. Even after not turning the monitor off altogether.
