PG27AQDM Stand-by bug in MCM107 still persists

So the last 2 firmware updates - MCM106 and 107 have been great for picture quality but they have introduced a bug that's yet to be fixed. Whenever I turn on my PC (Windows 11) the monitor turns on initially but then it says "no display port signal" and goes back to stand by mode. The only way to fix this is to turn off the monitor from the button behind the logo and turn it on again. In firmware MCM105 and below this bug didn't exist. Please fix this, it's the only flaw left with this monitor, you have managed to successfully fix the colors (granted it took you more than a year) and HDR looks better than ever but this bug is annoying. For reference I'm using a 4080 SUPER.

edit: Forgot to mention the bug sometimes occurs when resuming from sleep mode.

Hi @thetanaz ,

thank you for contacting us regarding the standby mode issue you are experiencing with your PG27AQDM monitor after updating to the latest MCM106 and MCM107 firmware.

To better understand the issue, we would like to confirm the following:

  1. Does the monitor display "No Display Port Signal" and then return to standby or sleep mode when both standby and sleep modes are enabled? Do you wake the monitor from standby or sleep using the keyboard or mouse?
  2. Are you currently using the original cables that came with the monitor? Have you tried cross-testing with other cables?
  3. Is the monitor connected directly to the 4080 SUPER via a cable? Are you using any other adapters or docking stations?
  4. Can you please provide us with a video of the issue occurring? Having a video will help us better analyze the problem. (Please provide the video in its original MP4 format.)
  5. Please provide the model/driver, firmware version, BIOS, and OS information for all currently connected devices.

Thank you for your cooperation.

1.Yes, that is the exact issue, however for some reason in the past 2-3 days it stopped doing it ?? No idea what changed.

2. I'm using the DP cable that came in the box with the monitor.

3.Yes it is connected directly to the DP output of the GPU.

4. Right now no, because for some reason the issue randomly stopped, I have no idea what changed.

5. I'm using an ASUS X570 TUF Motherboard with the latest BIOS.

It did it again.  I guess it's random, it doesn't do it every time but around 20-30% of the time.

Hi @thetanaz @OlgaWilliams @Combine @skeggia  ,

Thank you for providing such detailed information.

We understand that you're experiencing an issue where your monitor initially turns on but then displays "No DisplayPort signal" and goes back to standby mode.

To help us pinpoint the problem more accurately, we would like you to provide the following information via private messege:

  1. Graphics card information: Please provide the full model and serial number of your graphics card. This will help us quickly look up relevant information.
  2. Video recording of the issue: To help us better understand the issue, could you please record the screen when the problem occurs and provide it to us in MP4 format? Please note that due to access restrictions, we cannot use platforms like YouTube. We recommend sending the video directly to us.

Currently, our engineering team has tried reproducing the issue using 4060 and 4090 graphics cards, but we have been unable to duplicate the issue.

Therefore, the video you provide will be very helpful in our troubleshooting.

Thank you again for your cooperation. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello, my issue is a bit different:

If the computer is in sleep mode and woken up, the monitor works. But if the computer is restarted, the video signal does not return after the computer restarts. I have to turn the monitor off and back on before it will detect the video signal.

(I could send a video of this but it shows exactly what you would expect - the screen going black after the computer restarts and, several seconds later, showing the 'No signal' message before the monitor goes to sleep.)

This bug was introduced in MCM106 and remains in MCM107. Reverting to MCM105 fixes it.

Nvidia 4090 FE (initial release) connected via DisplayPort - supplied cable used and a different cable makes no difference. Latest drivers for the card and for the motherboard (Asus Z690 TUF Gaming) used but this bug has persisted through various driver updates. Setting all BIOS settings to stock also makes no difference.

Same case with me.

The recent firmware updates MCM106 and MCM107 improved picture quality but introduced a frustrating bug where the monitor displays "no display port signal" on startup. Turning the monitor off and on fixes it temporarily. This issue didn’t exist with MCM105 and earlier. I found https://canadianwritings.com/ site that offers professional writing services, helping with essays, research papers, and other assignments. They focus on quality and deliver everything on time, making it a reliable resource if you ever need extra support.

Same issue for me, previously used MCM105 and no such issue. After upgrade to MCM107 started to see later on exactly same issue with MSI RTX 4090 Supreme. Does not matter if original included DP cable is used or any 3rd party DP cables.

Workaround has been replugging Displayport cable but even that has not been always the 100% guaranteed workaround, from GPU side did not matter which DP output was used.

The "bullet proof workaround" has been plugging off monitor from power itself and after that restarting / starting PC the does not occur for some time until happens again and power cord plugging workaround goes to full swing again. Gives impression the guaranteed workaround is to deplete monitor's capacitors (hence the need for power loss for display).

Motherboard being used is Asus Z690 HERO with latest BIOS 3701. Windows 11 latest build and nVidia driver is also latest, had nvidia driver update today but even that did not change any behavior.

EDIT - this issue does NOT occur with HDMI cable at all and DisplayPort Signal Lost issue occurs as soon as PC boots to Windows itself.

Another issue I found in MCM107 is that both Gaming and Cinema HDR have extremely overblown colors and brightness. It's like the monitor's trying to produce much higher brightness level than it is capable of and it distorts the entire picture. In Console mode it's a bit better but still not ideal. I went back to MCM105. It's not perfect (still the colors are a tad bit too warm) but it's the best we've gotten so far by a long shot.

I'm getting something similar since upgrading to MCM107 (I skipped 106 due to reported issues); Generally booting up and waking from sleep are fine, but if I switch resolutions or enable/disable HDR, I lose signal completely and have to either replug the DisplayPort cable, or use Windows + P to disable the monitor and then re-enable it. Going into exclusive fullscreen in some apps also triggers the problem. It's a real pain as 107 looks great in both modes finally. I've tried GPU Driver updates, monitor driver reinstallation, changing the DisplayPort cable and making sure it's using the "Priority" port on my card (RTX 3080), to no change at all.
