So I updated the firmware and right away noticed below issues:
1. The HDR purple orange tint that was fixed with MCM 107 is now back.
2. Color banding is even worse ( SDR & HDR); although changing to Scenery mode in SDR reduces the banding a little but everything is oversaturated.

Hello, I do not encounter these anomalies. Maybe you could downgrade the firmware and then return to the mcm108.
For the color bands that are even worse (SDR and HDR) maybe your panel has a problem. Personally I would contact the seller's after-sales customer service and see if they can exchange it under warranty. All sellers must guarantee at least 2 years the products they sell.

Hi @mkultra2323 ,
Thank you for contacting us and sharing your issue about the HDR color shift and banding after updating the firmware.
To troubleshoot this issue, we recommend trying the following solutions:
Thank you.

1. Tried all of the above, still have issues with HDR on the red - orange color gradient similar to MCM106. Switched between my PC ( Display port) & PS5 ( HDMI 2.0) and HDR looking bad on both system. Perhaps something overlooked on the firmware content.
2. For now will revert back to MCM107.
3. The only issue with MCM107 is the HDR color posterization even after HDR calibration.

I confirm seeing the same thing as OP on MCM109.
The HDR issues that were fixed in MCM107 (see this thread https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-monitors/pg27aqdm-hdr-looks-bad-with-orange-colours/td-p/989371) have returned in MCM108 and MCM109.
I have reverted to MCM107 for now.

Today I discovered the updates MCM108 and MCM109. I was using MCM107. MCM107 mostly fixed the purple and mustard and skin color issue, but the HDR 6500K still showed some blown greens and banding in the highlights. MCM107 showed very distinct behaviors of the HDR tonemapping Settings (Console, Cinema, Gaming), the latter two being more bright and having different highlight curves.
So I downloaded MCM109. The blown greens are much more controlled now, so that's good. But now the tonemapping HDR Settings make no difference, they look exactly the same, no difference in highlights, no difference in shadows, no difference in midtones. I often used Cinema mode for some BR movies that rendered quite dark for some reason, but mostly used Console mode in games and YouTube. But now is a useless setting.
Also, banding in highlights persist in HDR 6500K mode, and it clips very early. See this comparison between MCM109's HDR 6500K mode and HDR 8200K mode. These are the exact same frames but with different temperature setting, captured by a reflex camera in manual mode with fixed colors, ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6500K (see the sun's glow over the valley and the gradient of the sky):
8200K (the sun's glow over the valley and the gradient of the sky are much more soft):
6500K (banding in the highlight):
8200K (highlight gradient much softer):
6500K Clipping (early)
8200K Clipping (better gradient)

PURPLE ISSUE IS BACK WITH MCM108 AND MCM109
I tested these firmware yesterday, the purple tint in dark orange scenes shows again as described in the old topic:
Here are some shots, with MCM107, MCM108 and MCM109 (same manual camera settings):
MCM107 HDR 6500K Console mode (dark orange ok):
MCM108 HDR 6500K Console mode (purple):
MCM109 HDR 6500K Console mode (purple):
I am reverting to MCM107 because of this.
