Odd flicker glitch on XG27AQDMG

Pauliooo

I have been having this weird flicker issue on and off and have no idea how to fix it. I would really appreciate any help at all. I have fiddled with most settings on the monitor and have even tried a couple fixes from the internet that I found but to no avail. Here is an example of the problem.

I swapped the DP port the monitor was using and factory reset the monitor. The flickering seems to have stopped so I think the problem is fixed whatever it was.

Hi @Pauliooo ,

To better assist you with the screen flickering issue, we would like you to provide some information:

  1. When did the issue start: When did you first encounter this problem? Did it occur right after purchasing the monitor, or has it recently started? Have you recently updated any drivers or system?
  2. Connected device: What device are you currently connecting the monitor to? (e.g., computer, laptop)
  3. Cable testing: Have you tried using a different display cable to rule out the possibility of a cable malfunction?
  4. Specific scenarios: Does the flickering issue only occur under specific circumstances, such as running a specific program or playing a specific video?
  5. Driver updates: Please ensure that your graphics card driver and monitor firmware are up-to-date. You can download and install the latest drivers from the graphics card manufacturer and monitor manufacturer's websites.
  6. Factory reset: We recommend that you try resetting the monitor to its factory settings to rule out any issues caused by the monitor's own settings.
  7. Resolution and refresh rate: You can also try adjusting the monitor's resolution and refresh rate to see if it improves the flickering.

To better understand your issue, please provide the following information:

  • Computer/Laptop model:
  • Graphics card model:
  • Graphics card driver version:

1. When did the issue start: The issue seemed to be a problem from moment one as I experienced it the very first day I started using the monitor.

2. Connected device: The connected device is a PC.

3. Cable Testing: I have not yet tried a different cable. I only have one other DP cable so I will try that today.

4. Specific Scenarios: It seems to happen in all situations but it seems to also happen more often when PC is under heavy load.

5. Driver Updates: My GPU drivers and monitor drivers are up-to-date.

6. Factory reset: I will try a factory reset to see if it does anything.

7. Resolution And Refresh Rate: I will adjust the res and refresh rate but I would prefer to keep both at max.

Hi @Pauliooo ,

Thank you for your detailed response and the information provided!

Kindly complete the following steps and share the results with us:

  1. Test the monitor connection with a different cable.
  2. Perform a factory reset on the monitor.
  3. Adjust the resolution and refresh rate to observe if the issue persists.

Additionally, we recommend the following extra checks:

  • Connect the monitor to a different monitor port for further verification.
  • Use a different GPU port to perform cross-testing and rule out connection issues.

If the issue persists, to assist us in further analysis, please record the issue and save the video as an MP4 file, then share it with us for review and provide the monitor's serial number via PM box to me.

Thank you.

Hey I have the same issue, is there an official fix or patch? It seems it is a wide spread problem.

Like I said in the solution, all I did was swap DP ports and factory reset the monitor and it was fine. Have you also updated the firmware?

Yes I did, I did all these Things, and it seems to get worse than better, when i start the pc the monitor is flickering very strong and switching on and off, only after time it comes down and I can use the monitor.

Okay, something that seemed to improve it was to turn off the back side RGB, it is still there when I start the monitor but more minimal and noticeably shorter in time.
