No difference in image with Uniform Brightness setting On or Off in HDR mode on the Asus PG32UCDP?

Hey,

I have a Asus PG32UCDP.

How come I don't see any difference in image if in HDR mode I turn On or Off the Uniform Brightness setting?
Tried switching between all HDR image modes (Gaming / Cinema / Console / HDR400) and no change.

In SDR there's a visible difference but in HDR there's none.

Talked to a friend that also has the monitor and he doesn't see one either.

On the PG32UCDM that I had I could however see a difference in HDR from what I remember.

I'm on MCM106 firmware.

Hi @pika112 ,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding the "Uniform Brightness" feature you mentioned, we would like to provide you with a detailed explanation: When this feature is enabled, the system will not automatically adjust the maximum brightness of the screen when the display is shown in different screen sizes. This means that regardless of how the screen size changes, the brightness of the display will remain consistent.

To better understand the problem you are experiencing, please help us confirm the following:

  1. Previous version difference confirmation: Before firmware version 106, did you observe a noticeable brightness difference when you turned the "Uniform Brightness" feature on or off?
  2. Specific difference description: If there is a difference, please describe the difference in detail, such as the magnitude of the brightness change, the timing of the change, etc.

Your detailed description will help us more accurately determine the problem. Thank you for your cooperation.

So weird Aureliann you're like the only moderator here everywhere lol.

I don't know how it was in MCM105, I straight up updated to MCM106 without testing.

I'm on Gaming Mode HDR and with Uniform Brightness On I can definitely see a difference if I change the size of menus in Windows.

With Uniform Brightness Off I get the same results.

I also tested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOXRYB08KMU

There's absolutely no difference.

Also it's like I'm playing with Dynamic Tone Mapping On all the time.
Any HDR mode to disable this?
