New XG27ACS has Screen issues

ThunderZz

Hello,

I just bought this monitor a week ago and got some screen issues. Sometimes the screen turn black for a second and sometimes I get horizontal white strips on the screen.

I contacted the asus customer care multiple times now, but haven't gotten any feedback yet. Is there anything I could try on my own?

I have the most recent AMD drivers and install the newest driver from the ASUS site. Is the support taking sometime to reply? Is there no automatic response that my request was placed?

Hi.

I'm just trying to help. I'm not sure if you have downloaded the WHQL driver for this monitor. You can download it here: https://rog.asus.com/uk/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-strix-xg27acs/helpdesk_download/

Try that and see what happens.

I downloaded that file already. I tried to install the .ini file and it did something. But no improvement.

I am going to RMA my monitor now. I got a response from ASUS. I will keep the thread updated on what happend for other people with similar issues.

Hi @ThunderZz ,

Thank you for providing detailed information about your display issue.

To better understand your issue and provide more accurate assistance, we would like to confirm the following:

  • Repair order number: Have you obtained a repair order number? If so, please provide it to us so that we can track the repair progress.
  • Video of the issue: To better visualize the problem, we suggest you provide a video of the issue occurring. The video format should be MP4.
  • When does the issue occur: Under what circumstances does the problem occur most frequently? For example, when starting the computer, performing specific operations, or in specific games.
  • Connecting cable: What type of cable are you currently using to connect the display to the computer (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort)? Have you tried replacing it with a different cable?
  • Connection method: Is the cable directly connected to the graphics card and the display? Are you using a docking station or other adapter?
  • Graphics card driver: Please make sure your graphics card driver is up to date. You can visit the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest driver.
  • Resolution and refresh rate: You can try lowering the resolution and refresh rate of the display to see if the problem improves.

We recommend that you include the following in the video you provide:

  1. The process of the problem occurring: Clearly record the operation steps before the problem occurs and the screen after the problem occurs.
  2. Computer specifications: Provide your computer model, operating system version, graphics card model, and other information.
  3. Display settings: Provide your current resolution, refresh rate, color settings, and other information.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

  • Repair order number: Have you obtained a repair order number? If so, please provide it to us so that we can track the repair progress.
    • Have no RMA Number yet, as I just returned the product

  • Video of the issue: To better visualize the problem, we suggest you provide a video of the issue occurring. The video format should be MP4.
    • already returned the product, so I cant take a video. But I think black screen is pretty clear. And the white strips. they had about 5 cm in lenght but only 1 mm in height. So looked like just a row of some pixel had an issue. Was also around the same area every time.

  • When does the issue occur: Under what circumstances does the problem occur most frequently? For example, when starting the computer, performing specific operations, or in specific games.
    • Seems to be after a certain time the monitor was running. Not too sure as the also showed when I just started gaming

  • Connecting cable: What type of cable are you currently using to connect the display to the computer (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort)? Have you tried replacing it with a different cable?
    • Displayport cable that came with the monitor

  • Connection method: Is the cable directly connected to the graphics card and the display? Are you using a docking station or other adapter?
    • Directly in the GPU

  • Graphics card driver: Please make sure your graphics card driver is up to date. You can visit the graphics card manufacturer's website to download and install the latest driver.
    • latest, offical AMD Radeon Driver (no pro version "blue" driver)

  • Resolution and refresh rate: You can try lowering the resolution and refresh rate of the display to see if the problem improves.
    • WQHD and 180 hz

Yeah, I hope that can help.

Just received my replacement monitor. I am going to test everything.

For now it seems all good and I probably got a bad device on the first shipment.

If any issues with the new one, will post here.

I have the my replacement monitor and still i have the same problem as before but not as bad as before but the black screen is gone just the horizontal lines flickering. That's very sad 😞 i've tried other cable and no luck

Did you try a different Port on your GPU?

Did you use the cable that came with the monitor? If you use HDMI, which version is you HDMI Cable? Maybe an older cable causes issues
