New owner of an Asus ROG PG32UCDM OLED monitor - some helpful tips pls

So I just bought another OLED monitor - the Asus ROG PG32UCDM QD-OLED 3840x2160 resolution monitor.

I have some questions regarding it:

- the SDR on Windows desktop image format looks (at least for me) insanely better if I don't activate HDR from Windows -> why is that? Once I activate HDR in Windows the colors looked washed up? Do I need to change some settings?
Do you prefer to change some Nvidia image settings like crank up the Digital Vibrance abit from the Nvidia Control panel?
My Nvidia settings are 32bit color depth / 10 bpc output color depth / RGB color format and Full Output Dynamic range

- should I calibrate the monitor with the Windows HDR Calibration tool? What values should I put -> 0 / 1000 / 1000 ? (there are 3 steps in the calibration tool)

- I know this is subjective but what mode do you guys prefer? HDR Gaming or Display 400 True Black? RN I'm using HDR Gaming -> seen some ppl prefer the Console HDR profile but after the latest update (105) from what I researched it seems the preferred image profile now is Gaming HDR

- the monitor itself in HDR mode doesn't let me configure color temp or contrast or anything which is a bummer -> guess we should wait for a good firmware update like the PG32UCDP and other ROG monitors are getting?

- during gaming while I have HDR On in Windows I get the exact same settings in the monitor's internal menu right? no new ones get activated that I can change compared to when I'm in Windows?

- what's the default value for Vivid Pixel setting? What does it do? I currently have it set at 50

- some settings I should change in games or Windows to fully enjoy the monitor?

Thanks for any helpful advices!

Hi @pika112 ,

To better understand the color difference issue you're experiencing between SDR and HDR modes, we'd like you to provide the following information:

  1. Screenshots: Could you provide screenshots of the same content in both SDR and HDR modes for us to compare?
  2. Firmware version: Which firmware version were you using when you encountered this issue?
  3. Cable testing: Have you tried using different HDMI or DisplayPort cables to see if the problem persists?
  4. Factory reset: Have you tried resetting your display to factory settings?
  5. Driver update: Please ensure that your graphics card driver is up to date.

Display setting suggestions:

Different displays have different setting options, so we recommend referring to your display's user manual to learn how to adjust brightness, contrast, color temperature, and other parameters. We suggest starting with the default values recommended in the manual and gradually adjusting them until you find the most suitable settings for you.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

Hey,

I figured out what the "problem" is:

In SDR I'm used to wide color gamut opposed to sRGB, whcih HDR uses and is the default value.

For the othere stuff...I may need some answers.
