I just bought an Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMG, but my 240 Hz option is not showing up in Windows settings or THE NVIDIA control panel, and I don’t understand why. I used DDU to have a clean install of drivers and did the firmware update and installed the WHQL drivers. (I am using an HDMI 2.1 cable and tried the original cables ASUS sent, but none worked, both HDMI and DP.)

I’m new to pc gaming and pc in general, so sorry if I explained poorly . Thanks for helping !asus 240 hz nvida.pngasus FW version.jpgAsus 240 hz.png

Hi @Donosaure ,

Thank you for contacting us.

Regarding the issue you're experiencing where the 240Hz refresh rate option is not found in Windows settings or NVIDIA control panel, we would like you to confirm the following:

Hardware specification check:

  • Please carefully review the following timing diagram to ensure that your monitor, cable, resolution, and refresh rate settings meet the 240Hz specifications. Pay special attention to the red-boxed 240Hz option.

Restore factory settings:

  • We recommend that you restore your monitor to factory settings to rule out any software setting abnormalities. After restoring factory settings, please reconnect the monitor and check if the refresh rate option appears.

Graphic Friver confirm:

  • Please confirm whether your graphic driver is at the latest version.

If the suggestions above do not resolve the issue, we kindly ask you to provide the following information for further assistance:

  1. Graphics card model and driver version
  2. Windows version (e.g., Windows 10 22H2)

Providing this information will help us analyze the issue more effectively. Thank you!

Please note that response times may be delayed due to upcoming regional holidays. For urgent inquiries, please contact your local service center. Thank you for your patience.

From what I can see on your images, you are using HDMI. 144Hz is HDMI limitation. If you want 240Hz, switch to DisplayPort and if you want 240Hz + 10bit you need DP + DSC enabled in settings.

Another thing is that you are using multi-monitor setup, which could also limit your maximum frequency. Disconnect the other monitor, connect only the XG27AQDMG using displayport and you should see 240Hz.
