DSC Breaks Fullscreen Audio in Fallout 76

Level 9

I have an Asus PG32UCDM, and I have a pair of speakers plugged into the monitor via the 3.5mm line out port on it. If I have DSC on and Fallout 76 in fullscreen, it breaks the audio for Fallout 76, leading to no audio output over the 3.5mm jack for just Fallout 76.. I can still actually open the Steam Overlay and play a video or something and the audio from the video will work, just no audio from the game. If I disable DSC in the monitor, it works fine, giving me audio through my speakers, but that of course limits me to 120 Hz, so I'm not wanting to do that. Does anyone by chance have a solution to this, or is it a driver bug?

Customer Service Agent

Hi @MrEWhite ,

thank you for providing detailed information about the issue.
Based on your description, it seems that the problem is related to the DSC feature, where game audio cannot be output to the speakers when playing "Fallout", but it works fine when other videos are enabled.
Does this problem only occur when running "Fallout 76"?
Have you checked the audio settings in the game?
What is the current firmware version of your monitor?
Did you encounter the same issue in previous versions?
How are you connecting the monitor with the signal cable?
To further investigate your issue, could you please provide a video of the problem occurring? Please provide the video in MP4 format.
Also, please PM me the product serial number of your monitor.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

This happens for me in Fallout 4 as well. Starfield is unaffected however.

Yup, same thing here. Just tried out the new FO4 update and it cuts out in fullscreen. I made a post on the Nvidia forums as I'm thinking it's a DSC issue with the drivers:
