Display Widget Center instantly enables HDR when I open it.

Hello,

Using ASUS Rog Swift PG32UCDM OLED monitor with latest firmware. I think there is a zero issiue with the monitor.

When I zapping around monitor's own osd, I saw 8bit 4k 240hz at the Information menu...

So I went to Nvidia Control panel and set it to 12BPC. After I run Display Widget Center, It enables HDR instantly.

Tried 10BPC, same. After I returned back BPC settings to normal "use default color settings" but there is no help.

Tried to clean install Display Widget Center. But no help.

Please help me 🙂

If your ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM OLED monitor is automatically enabling HDR when you open the Display Widget Center, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check Windows HDR Settings:

    • Go to Settings > System > Display.
    • Scroll down to the "Windows HD Color" section and ensure that "Play HDR games and apps" is toggled off if you don’t want HDR to enable automatically.
  2. Adjust NVIDIA Control Panel Settings:

    • Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and go to Change Resolution.
    • Ensure you’re set to the desired resolution and refresh rate (e.g., 4K at 240Hz) and check that the output color depth is set to your preference (12BPC for HDR).
  3. Disable HDR in Display Widget Center:

    • In the Display Widget Center, check if there’s an option to disable HDR or set it to a preferred profile. Some monitors allow you to customize settings that can override default behaviors.
  4. Reinstall NVIDIA Drivers:

    • Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can use the NVIDIA GeForce Experience app or download the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website.
    • After updating, restart your PC.
  5. Monitor Firmware:

    • Double-check that your monitor’s firmware is indeed the latest version. Sometimes, a reinstallation can resolve issues.
  6. Contact ASUS Support:

    • If the problem persists, consider reaching out to ASUS support for further assistance. They may have additional solutions or updates specific to your monitor model.

These steps should help resolve the issue with HDR enabling unexpectedly.

I had previously done profiles, settings, etc. for HDR. I had also activated this BPC thing while trying it.

It was fixed when I unchecked the box. There is no problem even though 12BPC is selected in Nvidia Control Panel.
