Difficulty updating PG27AQDM to MCM110

I have a PG27AQDM.
Monitor settings lists "FW Version" as "MCM107"
"AdaptiveSync" in the monitor settings is greyed out.
Similarly, AMD Software lists AMD FreeSync as "Not Supported"
I downloaded "ASUS_PG27AQDM_MCM110" from https://rog.asus.com/us/monitors/27-to-31-5-inches/rog-swift-oled-pg27aqdm/helpdesk_bios/
When I try "OneKeyUpdate" I see "Status" is "Failed"
When I try "USBFlashDriveUpdate" (followed all documented instructions, disconnected all cables except power) I see "Update fail. Please check USB setting."

Please help, how can I get AdaptiveSync enabled?

I had a similar problem. In the end it only worked from a Laptop that was still on Win10. I would also be interested what is causing this problem.

Hello @_mac  @da_Choko , thank you for your report. Regarding your PG27AQDM firmware update issue from MCM107 to MCM110, please help us check the following:

  1. Could you let us know your current OS version and device model?
  2. Make sure the USB flash drive is formatted to FAT32 and that the update file is placed in the root directory.
  3. If the OneKeyUpdate method still fails, please ensure antivirus or other software that may block firmware updates is disabled during the process.

If both OneKeyUpdate and USB update methods fail across multiple systems, please send us the following information via private message for further analysis:

  • Monitor serial number
  • Screenshots of the update attempt and failure messages
  • Time of the issue and update environment details (PC model, OS version, GPU model, and driver version)

We will forward your information to our backend team for further investigation and follow up with you once we have an update.

Thank you.

My PC is on Windows 10, Version 22H21, OS Build 19045.6093
My monitor model number is PG27AQDM and it's on MCM107.

For USBFlashDriveUpdate:
* I formatted a 16gb thumb drive to FAT32 with a program called "guiformat"
* I placed `ASUS_PG27AQDM_MCM110.img` directly at the root of the drive
* I disconnected all other devices (PC display, PC USB, keyboard) from the monitor
* I went into update mode with exit + left-direction
* The monitor showed that it was updating firmware, but eventually "Update fail"
* I also tried the same process with a different 32gb thumb drive
* Edit: During this process, I do not have the USB-B to USB-A cable connected

For OneKeyUpdate:
* I do not currently have any additional windows PC I can use
* I do not run any additional virus software, just Windows Defender
* When I run `ASUS_PG27AQDM_MCM110.exe` I see:
  * Display Model: N/A (HW: -48)
  * Current Version: N/A
  * New Version: MCM110
  * Status: FAILED
* Edit: During this process, I have the USB-B to USB-A cable connected

I will send a DM now with those other details.

Hello _mac

Be sure you're connecting the USB-B to USB-A cable to your monitor and pc when doing firmware updates.

Yes, I should have mentioned that. During `OneKeyUpdate` I have the USB-B to USB-A cable connected to both monitor and PC. During the `USBFlashDriveUpdate` I have the USB-B to USB-A cable disconnected from the monitor.
(I edited my previous reply to add that information)

I've just got the same problem, i've tried with pendrive with many failures and just ordered another stick 2.0 cuz i got 3.2 i thought it cause a problem... found the solution which is pretty stupid, you need to delete the .img from the name and it will work to update even with turned on computer. obraz_2025-08-22_150841252.png
