Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a brand-new ASUS PG27UCDM, and after only 2 days of use, I started noticing several small dots/marks visible under the glass of the panel. These are not dead pixels or burn-in, because:
They are visible with the monitor turned OFF
They look like dust or contamination trapped inside the panel
They do not move or go away with cleaning
Pixel cleaning / pixel refresh does not change anything
This is extremely frustrating because this is the SECOND monitor with the same problem.
My first PG27UCDM had similar contamination issues, so I requested a replacement. This new unit is the replacement — and the exact same type of defect appeared in just 48 hours.
I haven’t abused the monitor in any way:
No excessive pixel refresh
No static images for long periods
Used normally for gaming and desktop
Room is clean, non-smoking, temperature-controlled
Before requesting another replacement, I want to ask the community:
Is this a known issue with certain manufacturing batches, or just extremely bad luck on my side?
Should I stop requesting replacements and get a refund instead?
Could this be related to the pixel cleaning prompts the monitor shows?
Is this something that gets worse over time?
I'm attaching photos so you can clearly see the issue — especially noticeable against dark backgrounds or when the display is off.
Any advice, shared experiences, or technical insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
