AutoHDR has recently started blowing out colours, anyone else? (3070 RTX, Asus PG27AQDM)

Until recently AutoHDR in Windows 11 used to work fine in Valorant, but in the last week or so something changed and now the colours are completely blown out and over-saturated.

Is anyone else having similar issues with AutoHDR?

Hi @asktoby ,

Thank you for contacting us. We understand that you are experiencing color overexposure when enabling Auto HDR.

To better assist you, we would like to confirm the following:

  1. Version-specific issue: Is this issue only occurring in version 108? The latest version is 109. We recommend updating to the latest version to see if the problem persists. ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM | Gaming monitors|ROG - Republic of Gamers|ROG Global (asus.com)
  2. HDR mode settings: When you enable Auto HDR, what is the HDR mode setting in your monitor's OSD menu (Gaming HDR, Cinema HDR, or Console HDR)? Does the issue persist when you switch to different HDR modes?
  3. Cable issue: What type of display cable are you currently using? You may try using a different cable to rule out the possibility of a faulty cable.
  4. Problem issue: Do you experience this issue only with the specific game Valorant? Does the problem occur with other games or during general use as well?

To further investigate the issue, please provide the following information:

  • Operating system: (e.g., Windows 10, macOS Monterey)
  • Graphics card model:
  • Troubleshooting steps you've tried: (e.g., updating graphics drivers, adjusting display settings)

Your detailed response will help us narrow down the possible causes. Thank you for your cooperation!

1) I've updated to MCM109 and the issue is still there.

2) In AutoHDR mode, I tried all three (Gaming HDR, Cinema HDR, or Console HDR) and the issue was still there.

3) The cable is Displayport.

4) Some AutoHDR software is fine (e.g. Aimlabs, Counterstrike 2, Biped), but some AutoHDR software looks "blown out", e.g. both Valorant & Kovaaks are blown out.
