SPECS: Aurora R8 with GTX 1660 TI, I9700K with 16 GB of RAM
Hello all, I hope you're all doing well! I've been having an on-going issue with my monitor. I keep seeing this weird burn-in effect which manifests as image retention while browsing the web on all browsers. This has mostly occurred after I noticed that G-SYNC did not work properly and would make games flicker and the monitor had some kind of frame-pacing issue. Honestly, I'm not too sure what caused. I hope that cleaning it with water didn't affect it somehow as I was careful to dry the monitor off and not clean it too much while in use. Another theory is that the monitor could've been on too long at points but 99% of the time I shut down my PC fully.
Here's a picture showcasing what I'm talking about exactly: https://imgur.com/a/whgNPxo
I ended up disabling G-SYNC and just have been using the monitor's built-in refresh rate, using 144 HZ and switching to 60 HZ for games like Elden Ring. I had an exact replica of this monitor but unfortunately it got damaged during a move and I had to replace it. Also, I can't really exchange or return this item for refund afaik due to it being purchased on Amazon a little over a year ago. I really don't want to dish out more money just to fix this problem, probably will upgrade my monitor to a 1440P one anyways if I get a RTX 3060 TI but we'll see.
Any advice on how to get rid of the image retention would be greatly appreciated. If it's too faint to see let me know and I can attempt to get a better screenshot. Thanks guys!

Hello, @calebzz1
It is difficult to identify any display abnormalities from the pictures you provided.
Could you please record a video of the complete scenario showing the issue?
Based on the current description, does the flickering occur only when you enable G-SYNC while playing games? Is it specific to certain games?
Could you please clarify if you are connecting with the original HDMI or DP cable?
If you try cross-testing with different cables or resetting the monitor settings, does the issue get resolved?
We suggest attempting to cross-test the monitor with different connections or connecting the monitor to other signal sources to further diagnose the issue.
Thank you.
