Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM - Dead/stuck Pixel - Warranty yes/no

Marius2089

Hello guys,

I'm from Germany and exactly three months ago I purchased the Asus PG27AQDM from a online-shop in Denmark. This display is absolutey amazing. I love it and enjoy every minute with this product. Unfortunately last week I discovered some black dots/sub-pixel in the upper left area of the screen. So i called the ASUS hotline and they said to me that I have to contact the retailer in Denmark for warranty exchange. I send them a mail with some pictures of the affected area on blue/red/green/white screen. I've got the answer that I have to send the monitor in for inspection with a detailed error description.

As you may understand I'm not really thrilled to spend some weeks without my screen and send it to another country and become it back with a declined warranty request. The retailer has no substitute products available for the inspection time. Thats the reason I want to ask you whether there is any chance of an exchange at all.

I already looked into the ASUS warranty-helpdesk and found the following information:

Covered Models: PQ22UC, MQ13AH, MQ16AH, PA27DCE, PA27DCE-K, PA32DC, PG27AQDM, PG34WCDM, PG42UQ, PG48UQ, PG49WCD

After Purchase

Bright Dot

Dark Dot

24 months

3

5

For a better undstanding I titled the affected sub-pixel "Dot 1 - Dot 5" and put them in a table:

Red image: Dot 1 - black // Dot 2 - black // Dot 3 - black // Dot 4 - on // Dot 5 - on = (3 dark sub-pixel)

Blue image: Dot 1 - on // Dot 2 - black // Dot 3 - on // Dot 4 - black // Dot 5 - on = (2 dark sub-pixel)

Green image: Dot 1 - on // Dot 2 - black // Dot 3 - on // Dot 4 - on // Dot 5 - on = (1 dark sub-pixel)

White image: Dot 1 - on // Dot 2 - black // Dot 3 - on // Dot 4 - on // Dot 5 - black = (2 dark sub-pixel)

As you can see, dot number 2 is defect on all four colors. The other four dots depends on the color if the dots are black or intact.

So for my understanding I have a total of five dark dots and with that I'm the unlucky guy who is still excatly in the range for no right on a warranty exchange., am I right?

Thank you very much in advance for you time and help!

Hi @Marius2089 ,

based on the specifications of the PG27AQDM OLED model, finding five or more dark spots within one year is considered within the normal range for the product.

Therefore, you can continue to use your monitor with confidence.

If you still have concerns about the monitor, as you are still within the warranty period, we recommend contacting your retailer for further assistance and support.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
