ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMGZ Stuck at 180Hz in 1080p

Keagan
Level 7

When I play a game where I don’t care about high FPS and run it at 1440p, it works fine at 240Hz. But when I switch to 1080p, it gets capped at 180Hz.

I had the PG27AQDM before, and it worked fine at 1080p 240Hz, but with this one, every time I launch a game in 1080p, it gets capped at 180Hz. When I tab out, it goes back to 240Hz. The OSD doesn’t show that the resolution is changing to 1920x1080. If I change my game to 720p, the OSD will show 1920x1080 at 240Hz. If I set it to 1080p, the OSD shows 1440p at 180Hz. 1440p works fine at 240Hz. Also, if I have advanced display settings open on my second monitor when the game launches, it shows it switching to 180Hz, and when I tab out, it switches back to 240Hz.

I’ve updated the monitor firmware, tried a different cable, updated Windows, and updated NVIDIA drivers—nothing has fixed it.

Anyone know how to fix this?
