Asus PG27AQDM Cannot Upgrade Firmware (One Key "Status Failed" -48)

My new PG27AQDM arrived today and it came with 103 firmware. I'm trying to update to latest and have been trying both the One Key method and the USB method.

Current FM version: 103

OS: Windows 11

Connection: DP 1.4

Proper WHQL Driver installed and showing up in Device Manager

Other monitors disconnected.

For the one key method, everything I try results in the same thing happening - The One Key program starts and instantly displays the following Screenshot 2025-02-09 190136.png

This is the same for previous versions (108 and 107) as well.

Here's what I've tried: Ensuring that the USB cable is connected from monitor to PC and trying different USB ports on PC while other USB devices are disconnected. Booting into Safe Mode and running installer. Resetting monitor to factory defaults and running installer. Disabling / Enabling HDR while attempting update. Disconnecting AQDM monitor from PC while USB is connected and monitor remains powered on and running installer using separate monitor.

Every thing produces the exact same result as screenshot shows above.

I then tried to abandon the One Key method and do the USB into monitor method. However, I cannot get the "firmware OSD" to show up no matter what I do. The instructions say to press the left paddle "exit" button + the left joystick button at the same time and hold them for 5 seconds. Doing this does nothing. I have tried doing it disconnected from PC, reformatting the USB drive and ensuring that the partition is MBR + FAT32 less than 32gb, trying a different USB drive, trying the other (non recommended) USB port. The FW Update OSD never populates.

So.. I'm at a loss. I've spent a few hours now trying to get this to work and I'm about to give up and return it. If anyone has any ideas or other things I should be trying, please let me know ASAP as I'd really like to keep this monitor if possible.

Quick follow-up, I've also tried using the included HDMI cable instead (in both HDMI ports on monitor) - it made no difference.

Okay. I finally got it to work - I used a different windows 10 install and it worked. No idea why.
