New laptop audio much worse - with Samson Q2U

I have a Samson Q2U microphone and is working fine with my old laptop old laptop (acer aspire 7) https://imgur.com/c2i6f3b . Last year I bought a new laptop new laptop (GV601VV) (ASUS x16 flow) https://imgur.com/HAOJhUC but the input audio quality with the microphone was so bad that was like recording straight from builtin microphone.

I tried a lot of different solutions - turn of audio enhancement / reinstall window to update drivers (kept my doc so not a full clean install - will do a clean install if nothing else work) / playing around in Realtek Audio Control/Console, sound setting, sonic studio 3, but nothing seems to work 😕

I'm not sure if it is because of ASUS or just not having the right drvier installed 

Asus seems to have a lot of built-in software to control things eg armoury crate, sonic studio 3.
