So, I've had this ROG Spatha X mouse for quite a few months now. I've mostly used it for War Thunder, Modern Warships, Star Conflict, etc. They were having a sale on them at the time and I thought at half-price the mouse was a pretty good fit. I wanted plenty of buttons I could program so I could future-proof my mouse needs.
I was in the middle of a War Thunder game the other day when all of a sudden my buttons stopped working. I would aim and try to shoot, but nothing was working. In the past I had a few hiccups with this mouse and have had to put some effort into getting it back into working order. However, this time I can't seem to keep it working. It now seems to be in the mode where you select the DPI with the scroll wheel. I followed the instructions to try and turn it off (by clicking the DPI button again) but the button doesn't respond. As a result, left-click, right-click, my program keys, nothing is function but the scroll wheel. I'm having to use my laptop track pad to navigate now.
I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, even the three-button firmware reset, but currently the mouse is just glowing blue. The cursor moves, and I can affect the DPI with the wheel, but the receiver is dark and the mouse itself won't click. The DPI button doesn't respond. I tried using some compressed air in a few spots, thinking maybe that maybe it needed cleaned, but no joy there either. I don't what else to try. I feel like this thing might be fried.
Any other suggestions before I request a replacement?

Hello RazerCrusader
After reading through your post, I see two issues.
1) The charging dock isn't lighting up which could indicate it's not getting power.
2) The DPI button is activated and won't deactivate.
For the charging dock, try reconnecting the cable at the dock end and try another usb port on your pc.
The DPI button is located just behind the scroll wheel. Click it once to activate the DPI setting, adjust the DPI with the scroll wheel, click the DPI button again to set. No need to hold the DPI button, just press it like a regular mouse click.
If you've reset the firmware, install Armoury Crate and check for an update at the update center.
Armoury Crate version 3.2.11.2 - Armoury Crate - Support
It should update to 5.9.9.0.
You will need to have the charging dock connected and working to do the update in Armoury Crate. When using wired mode, the dock won't light up. When using 2.4GHz wireless mode, the dock should light up.
1) Make sure the charging dock is connected to a pc usb port and it's powered on and working.
2) Grab the other cable from the Spatha X box, connect it to the Spatha X and a pc usb port.
3) Set the wireless switch on the bottom of the mouse to wired mode.
4) Try the update in Armoury crate.

Hello Nate. Thank you for replying.
I've actually gone through all these steps already. The mouse will briefly enter a "rainbow cycle" mode, and the buttons will work briefly, but the mouse then reenters the same DPI adjustment. Clicking the DPI button does nothing, either clicking it OR holding it down. It will not exit that mode at all.

You're welcome
Ok, so nothing is helping so far.
You can try uninstalling your ROG Spatha X from Device Manager, then reboot.
Under "Keyboards" and "Mice and other pointing devices", right click and uninstall. You can uninstall all HID Keyboard Device for good measure.
Does this get your ROG Spatha X working properly?

It does not. Again, for a few moments, the mouse starts working like normal once more, but after about 15-30 seconds it returns to the light blue mouse wheel, and the scroll wheel only allows me to adjust the DPI. The cursor works, but no buttons do.

Ok, it sounds like there could be an issue with your ROG Spatha X.
1) When you press the DPI button, does the LED just behind the DPI button change color?
2) Does the DPI button click when you press it?
1) Red = 400 DPI
2) Purple = 800 DPI
3) Dark blue = 1600 DPI
4) Green = 3200 DPI

The DPI button clicks fine, but it doesn't do anything. There's one blue light glowing on it.

All right,
Clicking the DPI button should go through four DPI presets, since it's not, you might want to contact an official ASUS Support Center for further assistance.
If you're within the 1-year warranty, they will likely want to do an RMA. Have your proof of purchase and serial number ready as they will want these.
