Hello. I wanted to ask a few things about my old mouse Asus ROG Pugio II. It's a pretty nice mouse for me with a symmetric design, good lights, how-swap switches and 3 different ways of connection. I used it for almost 2 years. But I mentioned some things that I want to clarify:
1) Right now the original cable of Pugio II won't work in all cases. Sometimes it can be disconnected and connected automatically for 1-2 seconds. I tried to use other USB Type-A - USB Type-C cables but I found that the mouse socket for cable has an unusual shape that makes it very difficult or impossible to use other regular cables. The socket has the shape of a figure with 6 corners. I tried to use a cable from ROG Gladius III where a cable connector has the shape of a figure with 8 corners. It works, but it's quite difficult to connect. The other standard cables with a square-shaped connector even can't be plugged in because they have a much bigger width than the mouse socket. See the attached picture where I tried to explain it:
2) When I connect Pugio II Windows always recognizes it as mouse, keyboard and controller. Why does it work as a controller? I tried other mice and they are recognized only as mice. ROG Gladius III, for example, is recognized as a mouse and keyboard, but not as a controller. So even Steam recognizes a Pugio II as a controller a few times (not even one time) and it affects some games because it can conflict with real controllers or with some movement settings. Please see the attached pictures:
3) Is it possible to change the color or RGB lights in Armory Crate that blink when you change the DPI settings? Right now they can be only of 4 specific colors - Red, Violet, Blue and Green, and only in this order (please see the attached picture). For example, for ROG Gladius III you can set any color to any DPI settings and change their order.
4) Is it possible to change the glides? Because after almost 2 years they have worn out a bit and now the mouse doesn't move on the mat as smoothly as before.
5) Do you have some plans to make a ROG PUGIO 3? It would be nice if you could make the same mouse with the same form factor, size, shape, number of buttons and types of connection but fix all the issues that I wrote about here. Also, It would be a big plus if this new mouse would come with a fabric-braided cable because the current simple cable is too stiff. In that case, I would be first in line to buy that mouse 😁

Hello 50RBEX
1) Even though your ROG Pugio II disconnects for a second or two with the original cable, I'd recommend keeping it in 2.4GHz wireless mode and only connect the cable for charging or doing updates in Armoury Crate. When fully charged, disconnect the cable.
This should help keep you from experiencing any disconnection issues while using your mouse.
2) Usually, a mouse with a joystick such as the ROG Chakram X will get detected as a game controller. Since yours doesn't have a joystick, I'm not sure it's normal. Someone posted a solution in this thread at tom's hardware, maybe it will help. - [SOLVED] - ASUS Rog Pugio II is Detected as Mouse, Keyboard and Controller | Tom's Hardware Forum
3) The dpi lighting is the default colors for each setting, I doubt you can change them, but you can use Armoury Crate to create custom colors and profiles.
4) You should be able to find replacement feet online. Here is a set from ebay, other online retailers might have them too.

5) No info on a Pugio III, you can make suggestions here.

Hi Nate152,
Thanks for the reply.
1) I understand, thanks. But anyway, in my opinion, the current size and shape of the connector socket make it difficult to use any other cables instead of the original. So it would be nice if, in the future version, sockets would have more simpler shape and bigger size to use any cable in case when the original cable, for example, was broken.
2) Yeah, I already saw this thread. And I already used a fix from it. And as in the answer, I have the same result. Before the fix, I saw about 3-4 different controllers with the same name "ASUSTeck ROG Pugio II", after the fix I saw only 1 controller. So the issue was resolved, but not fully. I still see "ASUSTeck ROG Pugio II". And I think it's not correct. For example, in the case of Gladius III, I don't see any controllers in Steam settings.
3) I see, thanks.
4) Oh, thanks. Will check it.
5) Thanks, I will add a link to this thread with my suggestions there.
