As above;
The mouse operates fine but randomly and when ever it chooses appears to stop moving the cursor or any game it's attached too, the only way to get it back is to move the mouse back and forth until it returns.
This behavior is the same over Bluetooth (and yes I have the WiFi aerial plugged in), over WiFi by itself & the Dongle which is situated approximately less than a foot away from the mouse, potentially I could move it even closer if I used the port on the back of my Rog Balteus QI mouse pad, and it also happens when directly connected by USB Cable also.
Because it's so random and hard to reproduce by an actual human action, I'm concerned at sending the device back to the store as they might not find the issue and yet there is absolutely an issue.
I've updated firmware, there isn't anywhere to go with all that at all except maybe Windows 11 having a driver fight in the background maybe .. I'm doubtful about that.
Should I just send it back to the store? or is there something I can do to isolate the problem to either fix the problem, or log the issue actually happening so the store can see the issue and either refund/replace?

I've decided that the device must be at fault, and gone back to my Rog Chakram Core which after nearly 2 years of faultless use still functions perfectly, thus I can only conclude that the device; Rog Chakram X Origin is faulty in some way, just hope I can get it exchanged as Rog Chakram X series in this country are really expensive.

Hello Inner200k
Make sure the wireless dongle is connected directly to a pc usb port, you can use motherboard or pc case usb ports.
If you use the usb extender, make sure the cable is connected to a pc usb port as well.

Thanks Nate for you reply, however the effect happens and I was unclear about this in my initial post that all combinations of ports have been tried, direct to backplane USB from 2.0 to 3.2 for both dongle and direct USB.
I've gone back to my Chakram Core which doesn't exbibit this behavior no matter where it's plugged in, admittedly different technology from a different generation, the Origin X however has had this problem from the week I plugged it in last December 2024 and after trying just about everything to nail down problem every connection type and port, and trying the 'just have to deal with it attitude' because of a refusal to believe that something so expensive and held with such high regard in the community being 'Rog' could even possibly be faulty, I've finally concluded I've just gotten a bad mouse that escaped the QI testing, it happens.

You're welcome
It's possible your ROG Chakram X Origin could be faulty, on the bright side, ASUS gives a 1-year warranty on their peripherals in most countries.
When your Chakram X Origin stops working, does the RGB go off too? If yes, this could be some kind of power issue.
You could try resetting your ROG Chakram X Origin, here's how I do it.
1) Connect the charging cable to one of your pc's usb ports and have it close by.
2) Set the wireless switch on the bottom of the mouse to wired mode (switch set to the center position).
3) Press and hold down Left click, Right click and Scroll click buttons for 5 seconds.
4) With all 3 buttons held down, connect the cable.
You may have an update in Armoury Crate , check to see if it's working any better after the reset.

Oddly you'd expect it too but no, it's almost as if the lens that tracks movement from the surface gives up for some reason, that could in theory be a source power issue; however that should be ruled out as I tested it on every connection it can connect too, though the wireless mode might indicate the rechargeable battery needs replacing that might be the case if it didn't still do it on other connections.

I did try something like that from searching other posts also, however I was unable to effectively diagnose if it 'had' reset or not, is there any light immersions from the device that indicate that the reset is in progress or completed?
I was kind of expecting it to lose it rainbow color profile from the RGB and glow white or something, it didn't seem to react at all.

I just reset my ROG Chakram X, it didn't flash any lighting to show it was reset, but it did show an update in Armoury Crate.
Is it working any better after the update?

No it wasn't. it's currently back at the store where it was brought from, to see if the problem is reproduceable in an entirely different environment and by someone else, I'm expecting the following;
A. The device does misbehave and they give me a replacement.
B. The device doesn't misbehave and I have to bring it back home plug it back in, perform the gymnastics of capturing a mouse pointer not moving and my hand on the mouse moving it, not fun times. (of course there are ways to ensure this happens making it easier to video, but I'll do my level best to capture the problem for real first, what I am meaning by this is there is only so long I'm going tolerate the fault and trying to video it for real maybe a couple of dozen times, before I resort to the easier way)
As it turns out I brought a new PC parts recently for a new rig I'm building (same store) and it wouldn't power up so that had to go back too, so I took the mouse back at the same time they said 3-Days I'm expecting longer so once I know what the outcome of the mouse is at the store I'll post back here.
** Just a query; I own both a Core and an Origin X could the drivers from both of these mice be conflicting with each other in someway, so the reason why the Origin hangs could that be a driver issue where windows thinks core drivers they will work on this Origin X tries to (hangs the mouse pointer in the driver switch), then the Origin X say no wrong driver I need these (hangs the mouse pointer again) and switches back? (obviously that would be an intermittent loop, probably based on how long ago I touched the Origin X)
