ROG Chakram starting to misbehave

Konrad2709

Hi all,

I've had my ROG Chakram for a few years now and just yesterday it's starting to misbehave and become very frustrating.

It gets itself stuck in a partially malfunctioning mode (no buttons worked), but this morning it would flick between several modes (I don't believe they're aligned with profiles).

1. The cursor moves, but no buttons (or scroll wheel) works.  I can use the laptop touchpad to 'click', but that is extremely impractical!

2. The cursor changes to moving very slowly.

3. Occasionally it'll suddenly change to letting buttons work for short periods.

4. It'll constantly cycle through different settings.  I had Armour Crate open and as the colours changed, it kept changing the DPI setting... by itself.

It seems very unstable and random.

If I change modes, the buttons work briefly (a few seconds to 10s of seconds), but then they stop.

I've got the latest firmware updated, but can't find a way to 'reset to factory conditions', to start from scratch.

I've tried bluetooth, Wifi and wired.  The problem persists across all 3.

I've tried two laptops, behaviour occurs on both.

This is driving me both sad and mad!

Is anybody able to help suggest what to do?

Hello konrad2709

Have you tried resetting your mouse?

1) Connect the ROG Chakram charging cable to your laptop and have it close by.

2) Set the wireless switch on the mouse to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

3) Press and hold down Left click, Right click and scroll click buttons.

4) With all 3 buttons held down, connect the cable.

5) You should have an update at the Armoury Crate update center, check to see if this fixes the odd behavior.
