ASUS ROG Gladius ||| Wireless not working properly

Amphibian10
Level 7

Earlier today my mouse was working perfectly but after plugging it in to charge while using it, the mouse started to malfunction. The LEDs changed to a different color (cyan wheel, red back), none of the buttons would work and the scroll wheel increased or decreased the sensitivity based on the direction scrolled. The mouse would work again for a few seconds after turning it off and on again but would go right back to the malfunction.

Following the recommendations in this post fixed it similarly to the poster where it works wired but not wireless. Every time I attempt to update the firmware in Armoury crate the malfunctions occurs almost immediately.

Hello Amphibian10

It sounds like you pressed the dpi button on the bottom of the mouse, try pressing the dpi button again and see if your mouse returns to normal.

To update your mouse in Armoury Crate:

1) Connect the cable to your mouse and a pc usb port.

2) Set the wireless switch on the bottom of your mouse to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

3) Connect the wireless dongle to a pc usb port.

4) Try the update in Armoury Crate.

Are you referring to the dpi button below the scroll wheel? Pressing this button does not change anything, if not then I am not aware of which dpi button you are referring to.

I have tried the update in Armoury crate and this does not fix the issue and only leads to the mouse malfunctioning even while wired.

After looking in the manual, the ROG Gladius III Wireless doesn't have a dpi button on the bottom like I initially thought.

So, let's try resetting your mouse.

1) Connect the cable to a pc usb port and have it close by.

2) Set the wireless switch on the bottom of the mouse to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

3) Press and hold down Left click, Right click and Scroll click buttons for 5 seconds.

4) With all 3 buttons held down, connect the cable.

5) Your mouse should be reset and you should have an update in Armory Crate.

Does this get your ROG Gladius III Wireless back to normal?

The reset allows it to work wired due to it being recognized as an HID compliant mouse in device manager.

The update in Armoury crate is labeled as a firmware update for "B_ROG GLADIUS III (Device)" and installing this update almost instantly causes the mouse to malfunction even when wired.
