Hi,
I'm having a problem updating the firmware of my ASUS ROG Strix Scope II RX keyboard via Armoury Crate. When I connect the keyboard, Armoury Crate shows that a new firmware version (1.00.14) is available. My current version is 1.00.13.
When I click the "Update" button, the keyboard lights go off, and after a few seconds, I get error code 4181. After that, the keyboard stops working. I have to unplug and reconnect it to make it work again. But when I reconnect it, the update prompt appears again, and the same error happens every time. So it’s stuck in a loop and can’t complete the update.
Here's what I’ve tried so far:
Removed Armoury Crate completely using the official uninstall tool and reinstalled it.
Deleted the keyboard driver from Device Manager and reconnected the keyboard.
Tried different USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0).
Disabled antivirus and firewall during the update.
Nothing helped. I still get the same 4181 error.
After the failed update, Armoury Crate generates a .logE file. I have this log file and I’m happy to share it if needed.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is firmware version 1.00.14 broken or incompatible with certain systems? Or is there a workaround I can try?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hello OsmanCitci
When doing the update:
1) Connect the charging cable to your keyboard and a pc usb port, you can use motherboard or pc case usb ports.
2) Set the wireless switch on the keyboard to wired mode (switch set to the center position).
3) Connect the wireless dongle to a pc usb port.
4) Try the update in Armoury Crate.

No dongle only wired cable no wifi rog Strix scope ii RX model
I tried all the ports, unplugged everything, only the keyboard plugged in, but it didn't work. I tried it on another computer, but it still didn't work.

Sorry about that, was thinking you had the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless.
I notice the update has a red triangle, my experience with this is to periodically try the update.
It should eventually update, give it 24 hours or so.

I tried it as a single USB and it still didn't work. When I click the Update button when I follow the device manager, the STM32 BOOTLOADER is loaded, then the keyboard lights go out, then it gets stuck in DFU mode because the update is faulty. The keyboard is not active unless I unplug and plug it back in, and it gives the error code 4181 again.

I waited for 24 hours and the result is the same. Is there no solution?

Try disconnecting all other usb devices except your mouse and keyboard, then try the update.

I did what you said but it didn't work. Should we wait for the next update? Or will they release a fix update? Or can we update manually?
