ROG Strix Scope RX emits high pitched noise

I love the keyboard, but it's loud! The sound is being emitted regardless of the RGB light and if I set the light to maximum there is another noise that makes it even louder. I cannot make this keyboard silent no matter what I try. I already replaced it it twice and all of them has the same issue. In fact, I even tried cheaper TUF Gaming K3 and it has the same issue. What gives? The previous generation didn't suffer from this problem.

Hi Terepin,

Trying with three keyboards all with the same issue would say it's not the keyboards.

Have you tried different usb ports?

Does the high pitched sound occur when the RGB is off?

Yes. I tried different USB ports, even different computer. The noise is being emitted even when light is off.

Thank you,

Is Armoury Crate fully updated?

If yes, try resetting your keyboard by pressing Fn+Caps for 15 seconds.

Tried it. No dice.

Thank you,

I've never experienced a keyboard with a high pitched noise, maybe my ears aren't as good as yours or my pc is too loud.

Does your ROG Strix Scope work fine other than the high pitched noise?

What firmware version are you using?

I was searching around to see if I could find anything and came across these steps to resolve it, no guarantees but worth an attempt.

Right click on the taskbar then select Taskbar settings
Click Home then select Update and Security
Select Troubleshoot on the left side
Click Keyboard then Run the Troubleshooter

Right click on the taskbar then select Taskbar settings
Click Home then select Ease of access
