ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless - Volume control not working (Multiwheel + FN keys)

mrpezo

Hi,

I recently got this keyboard and just realized I can't control the volume using the Multiwheel or Fn + F9/F10/F11.
My settings are all default — I haven't set up any macros or remaps.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Thanks,

Hello mrpezo

Press the button with the ROG logo until you see the little white speaker to the left of the numpad.

Then try the multiwheel for volume control.

Hi Nate152,

Thanks again for your response.

The multiwheel on my keyboard is already set to volume mode — the little speaker icon is selected.

When I press the wheel, it correctly mutes the audio. However, when I scroll it up or down, the volume always jumps to 100%.

The same issue occurs with the Fn shortcuts. Pressing Fn + F9 mutes the audio, but both Fn + F10 and Fn + F11 cause the volume to jump to 100% as well.

This clearly doesn’t seem like the intended behavior.

Thanks again!

Ok,

Try resetting your keyboard by pressing and holding Fn + Esc keys until the led's flash green.

Then test the multiwheel for volume control.

Hi Nate152,

Thank you for your quick response.

I’ve tried your suggestion, but unfortunately the issue still persists.

Interestingly, when I set the multiwheel to brightness mode, scrolling up and down works perfectly. The issue only occurs when it’s set to volume mode.

The Fn key combinations are also still behaving the same way.

Thanks again for your support.

Hi Nate152,

Thank you again for all your support.

I’ve figured out what’s going on, and I’m not even sure if it can be considered an actual issue.

Firstly, I also have Logitech G PRO X TKL LIGHTSPEED Wireless keyboard. When I use it, I can control the system volume just fine, even when an audio interface is connected.

However, when I switch to the ROG Strix Scope II 96, I can no longer control the system volume while the audio interface is connected.

I also tested the ROG keyboard on another PC, and it worked perfectly there. So it seems this only happens on my main setup, specifically when the audio interface is plugged in.

Have a nice day and every day!

Thank you

If you have Armoury Crate installed, something you could try is a custom setting for the multiwheel.

Set F11 key for Volume Up

F10 key for Volume Down
