ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless Random Key Reassignment

SR4ven

Hey, I have a Strix Scope II 96 Wireless for a few weeks now and I'm fighting with random, unwanted key reassignments.

Sometimes when I start my PC, I find some keys having different functions than wanted. E.g. Esc is reassigned to + or 0 to Esc.
In Armory Crate this is not visible, however, selecting the key, setting it to disabled and then back to default fixes the key assignment.

Pressing the "Reset" button in the top right of the Keys tab results in Operation Failed (S-1003).

Does anone else have the same problem? This is super anoying.

The issue was resolved on 8/22, did the update HTML v4.01.21 resolve the issue for you?

It's strange, ESC should only be ESC. When you start the PC, do you mean before entering Windows?

When you press the reset button,

Do you see this prompt first? Can you provide a screenshot of the error?

The F keys (F1 to F12), have dual functions, you may lock the mode by pressing Fn and = (Fn Lock). The LED indicator will light up "F".

I'm sure it's not the Fn Lock, since it affects completely random keys like Esc, 0, W and others.

Until today I was sure that the problem comes from Armory Crate, however today I used this keyboard with my laptop which has no Armory Crate installed and some keys were messed up again. But I cannot rule out that the keys were already messed up yesterday when I was using my desktop with Armory Crate. Until today, everytime I used the keyboard with a PC without Armory Crate, everything was fine.

In Armory Crate the Esc key shows up exactly like in your screenshot, pressing it however triggers a "+". Setting the key to disabled and back to default fixed it.

When pressing the reset button, I see the same prompt as you. After pressing it, it loads for a while and finally shows this error:

I also tried resetting the keyboard itself with Fn + Esc, but the random reassignments still happen.

I uninstalled Armory Crate with the specific uninstaller tool and reinstalled it. I performed a hardware reset on the keyboard holding Fn + Esc.
Resetting the Key tab in Armory Crate still leads to the same error.

@MasterC  I noticed that the keyboard layout shown in the software is US while my hardware is German. Could this be the issue? Is this working for anyone with a German layout?

Please can someone from tech support or development look into this?

It has become my daily routine to check if all keys are working, pull and plug the USB wireless dongle because the keyboard is not beeing detected in Armory Crate after startup and manually reassign the broken keys. This is extremely annoying!

We will investigate the keyboard with the German layout, I cannot reproduce it on the English layout. In the meantime, could you fill out a form? It would help to have you generate a log, and follow the instructions here to fill out the form.
