ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless battery drains fast

I bought the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard today and plugged it in to charge through my computer. It took about 3 hours to fully charge. I took it off the charger and it took 30 minutes to finish charging. I thought it might be because it was the first charge, I charged it again. About 5 minutes ago, the charge was completed. And in 5 minutes, the charge is now 57%. Even while writing this article, it decreased by 7%.

But it should hold the charge for days!

Update: The software now shows 1% of the charge. However, the keyboard is still on. It seems to be a bug with the new firmware update.

Update 2: The charge is completely dead...

Hello asimdemir

The red border around the battery shows you have the LED Brightness set to 100%.

Does lowering the LED Brightness extend the battery life?

Hi Nate, battery performance is similar even when lighting is off. The battery life is 103 hours with the LED on and 1500 hours with the LED off. However, this keyboard consumes all its energy in 30 minutes. I've tried everything. I also tried in Bluetooth mode, same result. I think it is a product with a manufacturing defect or the battery died during the time it was on sale. So I sent it to the authorised ASUS technical service yesterday. I'm waiting for the result from there.

Ok, sounds good.

I'd be interested to know what they have to say.

Even with it plugged it straight from a wall USB, not from the computer....  while gaming my keyboard drains to about 25% in 3 hours... then I have to completely walk away from the computer for about 15 hours to charge up.  I took it to the local computer shop, and they said this is normal for this keyboard.  I am surprised yours is holding as much charge as it is!   Beats the heck out of me.  When the keyboard works it is great, but the battery on it is BY FAR the most frustrating part of it.  I would never recommend the wireless version to ANYONE EVER- I wish I got the wired version.
