ROG Strix Cope II 96 Wireless Firmware Update Problem

Hi,

I have an ROG strix cope II 96 wireless keyboard and I can't update it's firmware in Armoury Crate. The keyboard is plugged with the wire to the PC and the dongle is also plugged in. The switch is in the center position.
When I click on "update", there is a window that keeps showing up saying "plug your keyboard with the wire and the dongle, set the switch to the center position before updating".

Can anyone help me ?


PS: The version of Armoury Crate is the latest one (3.2.11.2) and I also installed the Armoury Crate Gear for this specific keyboard (v 1.0.1.4) but it never lauches when I double click (there is a forever spinning wheel on the page

Edit 07/06/2024 : when using Armoury Crate Gear, I can't access the keyboard page (see screenshot). I tried to dissociate the keyboard off the receiver but it doesn't work. I also tried to update the drivers in windows but same problem.

Hello SaberToothCat

Try uninstalling both Armoury Crate and Armoury Crate Gear.

Reboot your pc.

Install Armoury Crate Gear and do the firmware update, this should update the wireless dongle to the ROG Omni Receiver. - ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless | Gaming keyboards｜ROG - Republic of Gamers｜ROG Global (asus.com)

Follow these steps to do the updates:

1) Connect the cable to your keyboard and a pc usb port.

2) Set the wireless switch on the keyboard to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

3) Connect the wireless dongle to a pc usb port.

4) Try the update in Armoury Crate Gear.

Are you able to update the firmware?

It worked this time, I just had to follow the steps in the exact order you wrote them.

So now I can reinstall Armoury Crate right ?

Yes, uninstall Armoury Crate Gear and install Armoury Crate version 3.2.11.2, it will update to version 5.9.4.0. - Armoury Crate - Support (asus.com)
