ROG Scope 96 ROG Logo PC Shut Down Green Light Problem

Hello, I have the ROG Scope 96 keyboard. I'm using it wired, but the ROG logo still lights up when the computer shuts down. How can I turn it off? I want all the lights to turn off when the computer shuts down.

Hello hayatbulorg

This is normal with the cable connected, it's letting you know it's charging.

When you disconnect the cable, the Lighting effects, Sync with keyboard lighting and Battery mode will take effect. The ROG logo should turn off with the cable disconnected.

Or, to keep the cable connected:

If you have an ASUS motherboard, go into the bios, Advanced tab, APM Configuration, set ErP Ready to Enabled (S4+S5). This is a power saving feature, it cuts power to the usb ports when your pc is shut down.

Hi Nate152,

Does that mean the green or pulse purple light on LED indicator is normal?

I just bought ROG Scope II RX Wireless, and I found that in wired mode (connected to my PC), even I set LED indicator synchronize with keyboard light effect, it still showed purple or green light. How can I let it synchronized with my customized effect in wired mode?

Hello lls0308abc

Yes, this is normal.

With the cable connected, the ROG logo acts as a charging indicator.

Pulsing purple = The battery is charging.

When fully charged or with the cable disconnected, the lighting effect for the ROG logo should take effect.

To have full control over the lighting with Armoury Crate, you'll want to turn off Windows Dynamic Lighting and move Armoury Crate to the top of the Background light control list.

Thanks for the explanation. May I ask more one question? I used Bluetooth mode and connecting to my PC, and I removed Bluetooth connected keyboard on PC side accidentally. Then my keyboard did not forget the first Bluetooth slot (Fn + 8 ) device. Even I reset my keyboard by Fn + Esc, it still not working. I want to remove the first Bluetooth slot, not really want to use the second or third Bluetooth slot to connect to the same device.

If I can not reset Bluetooth on my keyboard, does that mean this keyboard only accepted three devices in its lifecycle? How can I let my keyboard forget those devices it connected before? (Fn + Esc doesn’t work, I didn’t see pulse blue light when I switched to the first bluetooth slot.

keyboard is reset now, and my OS has restored to the time I didn’t plug or connect my KB.

Thank you!

I normally don't use bluetooth, but I am able to connect the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless to windows bluetooth.

See if this works for you.

1) Make sure bluetooth is turned on in windows and the wireless switch on the keyboard is set to bluetooth.

2) Click Add device

3) Click bluetooth for keyboards.bluetooth for keyboards.png

4) Press Fn + 7 keys for 3 seconds, the ROG logo should flash blue and show ROG Strix S.

5) Click ROG Strix S and it should connect.

Did your keyboard showing pulsing blue light when connecting? It seems that I connected beofre but I remove it from my PC, but the first bluetooth slot is locked. I can't find the device on settings when I set BE first slot.

Reproduce issue: After connect to BE, forget device on PC or mobile. Then that BE slot will be broken.

Yes, when pressing the Fn + 7 Keys, the ROG logo flashes blue.

I see there is an easier way.

Just set the wireless switch on the keyboard to bluetooth, then press the Fn + 7 keys for 3 seconds.

You should get a bluetooth connection notification at the bottom right of the screen.

Thank you so much - this was exactly what I needed! The user manual wasn't clear about this at all. Really helpful!
