Hi all,
I’m posting to raise visibility around a recurring and frustrating issue with the ASUS TUF Gaming FX506HE-HN033W: the S, Z, and X keys have stopped working. This problem seems to appear suddenly and without any signs of physical damage.
After some digging, I found I’m far from alone. There’s already a long thread on the ASUS ROG forums with dozens of users reporting the exact same problem:

Unfortunately, the thread has been closed for replies, even though the issue hasn’t been resolved and continues to affect users. The only advice offered so far seems to involve paid repairs or full keyboard replacements, which doesn’t sit right given how widespread this is.
To me—and clearly many others—this looks like a hardware defect or design flaw, not a user-caused problem. ASUS has a responsibility to address this properly, not push the cost onto consumers.
I’m currently exploring my options and considering formal action if this is not acknowledged or addressed soon. I’d prefer a cooperative solution, but if this turns out to be a systemic fault with no support, legal escalation may be necessary.
If you’re experiencing the same issue, please comment or share your experience here. More visibility might encourage ASUS to finally provide an official fix or a free repair/replacement policy.

Just to add a bit more detail: I’ve found a few temporary workarounds—like restarting the PC, or holding the W key while trying to press S, Z, or X, along with a few other finicky tricks—but nothing actually fixes the problem permanently.
It’s such a strange and frustrating issue, and honestly, it’s wearing me down. I’ve already decided I’ll be buying a new laptop, and it definitely won’t be from ASUS. That said, I still want this fixed—not just for myself, but for everyone else dealing with the same thing.
I’m incredibly disappointed with how ASUS has handled this. If anyone is reading this and considering a TUF model—or frankly, any ASUS product given how support has been on this issue—don’t. I really wish I had gone with another brand...

I have 2021 Asus a15 modal
I had keyboard issue from past 6 months S, Z and X keys doesn't work Pressing it with W resolve the issue for a few time etc
I got tired and just decided to replace my keyboard I wasted my entire weekend on this issue to find software solution but no luck
and then replaced my keyboard My Post on S Z X issue
