None of the ROG software is working with my new Azoth keyboard

I'm very close to returning my Azoth.

I've been trying to use the "Armoury Crate Gear - ROG Azoth" config software and just the plain "ROG AZOTH FW update" install package but nothing is working.

1. Updating the firmware for both the Azoth and the Omni Receiver never works. I've probably re-tried updating the firmware over 15 times now and it has failed every single time.

2. ROG Azoth Crate Gear software only detects my Azoth while its plugged in and in Wired mode. It will not detect the Azoth in Wireless mode but I'm still able to use it fine to type wirelessy. I assume this is because it failed to update the firmware...

3. OMNI Receiver fails to pair every time as well

4. Sometimes the ROG Azoth Crate Gear software doesn't even prompt me to update my firmware even though I've failed to update it

- I've tried resetting my Azoth with Fn+Esc

- I've tried uninstalling all the ROG software using the "Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool" and retrying the steps. Does not help.

- I've tried installing and using the "Armoury Crate" program. But this caused more issues than anything.

Nothing is working. Its endless issues with this keyboard. Tons of headache.

I'm running out of options and would like to see if I have anything else I can try before I return this thing and get my money back. Thanks.

Hello sawsig

Try this.

1) Uninstall Armoury Crate gear from windows.

2) Restart your pc.

3) Install Armoury Crate version 3.2.11.2. - Armoury Crate - Support (asus.com)

4) Install this firmware update. - ROG Azoth | Gaming keyboards｜ROG - Republic of Gamers｜ROG Global (asus.com)

To update your ROG Azoth in Armoury Crate:

1) Connect the cable to your keyboard and a pc usb port.

2) Set the wireless switch to wired mode (switch set to the cnter position).

3) Connect the wireless dongle to a pc usb port.

4) Try the update in Armoury Crate.

All those steps worked up until updating ROG Azoth with Armoury Crate.

I have both my Azoth and my Receiver plugged in and Azoth set to Wired/OFF mode.

When I try updating ROG Azoth in Armoury Crate, it gives me this message:

After I click OK, nothing happens and it puts me back at the Update Center where it still shows I have an update for ROG Azoth:

I've tried clicking "Update" a couple times now and it doesn't work.

UPDATE:

I just had to restart my PC to get it to install the ROG Azoth updaate.

Looks like things are working now! Thank you for your quick reply. I guess this exact sequence of steps you provided is the proper way to do it? ASUS should really make that more clear.

Hello Nate,

I followed the instructions and I had the same issue here. Even though I switched to wired mode and have my dongle connected it is not working. Restarting my PC did not work out tho. Spend a whole day trying to solve it.  Is there any way to downgrade the Omni dongle to an original version? Now it just simply cannot connect my azoth to the PC in 2.4g mode. FN+ESC did not work out as well.

1) Does the ROG Omni Receiver show in the Device List?

2) Is your ROG Azoth paired to the ROG Omni Receiver?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Omni receiver showed on the device list. But fn+7 is not working when I trying to pair. It will always show failed. And I ve updated the FW firmware from the website. There is one update for azoth at the update center but it will not allow me to update. It keeps asking me to connect dongle and switch to wired even though I did it already

Ok, it sounds like you need to get the update squared away.

Try this.

1) Disconnect and reconnect the wireless dongle, make sure it's connected a pc usb port.

2) Disconnect and reconnect the cable to your ROG Azoth and a pc usb port.

3) Set the wireless switch on the ROG Azoth to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

4) Try the update in Armoury Crate.

I followed the exact process. It still said I needed to connect the dongle and switch to wired mode. Can I start a warranty process in this case?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Armoury Crate.

1) Uninstall Armoury Crate from windows.

2) Reboot your pc.

3) Let the cable connected to your keyboard and a pc usb port.

4) Let the wireless switch set to wired mode.

5) Let the wireless dongle connected to a pc usb port.

6) Install Armoury Crate version 3.2.11.2 - Armoury Crate - Support (asus.com)

7) Do the updates at the Armoury Crate update center.

Does your ROG Azoth update after doing this?
