Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I'm writing from Chile.
About a year ago, I bought the ROG Azoth keyboard, and unfortunately, it's been a real headache due to a recurring issue with random key repeats. This problem happens unexpectedly on one or multiple keys.
After trying everything, like swapping out switches, reaching out to Amazon (with no solution), and contacting ASUS (who couldn't help since I imported the keyboard from the US), I finally decided to open it up by following this video:
YouTube Video = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5mr-hof_8k&t=37s
At the 3-minute mark, you can clearly see the system of female "clips" where the switch pins connect. After numerous tests and examining it closely under a light, I discovered that these clips had spread apart more than they should have (definitely a construction flaw by ASUS). This caused them to loosen over time, leading to a "bounce" effect when pressing the keys, where the pin made multiple contacts, resulting in the key repeats.
So, what was the solution that allowed me to go back to using the original red switches, which have such a nice feel? I carefully re-tightened those clips using a small metal object to press the "tabs" together. After reinstalling the switches, the problem completely disappeared.
Unfortunately, I didn’t record the process (regretting that now), but I recommend disassembling the keyboard (it's a fairly easy process) and inspecting the board under a light, just as shown at the 3-minute mark in the video. You’ll notice that some clips might be spread apart. Adjusting them all will fix the issue entirely, making your keyboard better than new.
This issue had nothing to do with software, firmware updates, or connection modes; it was purely a construction defect by ASUS. Once you try it, I’m confident you'll agree with me.
Hope this helps!
For discovering this issue, ASUS owes me an AZOTH Extreme replacement hahaha 😆

edit: Still fixed after 2 weeks, haven’t encountered a single repeat.
Thanks, really hoping this works as my keyboard has severe repeating issues on almost all keys. I bought new switches in an attempt to fix it, but after a few days they all started to fail again, and now my quick solution has been taking the switch out, and wiping the black residue off the pins every time a key begins double-typing. At this point, I think every single key has been faulty. Hoping your solution is more permanent.
I took the keyboard apart, and it took a while to figure out what you meant. You have to look inside each hole, and you will see a small slot on one end is almost closed, and the other end is wide open. All of my keys were like this, so I wasn't sure how much to close them or if it was intentional for the openings to be different. I didn't really have anything that could fit in there, but I tried my best and closed them maybe half as much as in this picture, and the issue seems to be fixed!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! 😄 I completely forgot to take photos during the process, so I had to grab a screenshot from the video instead, haha.
For me, the issue has been fully resolved. The keyboard is still working perfectly after the adjustment, with no key bounce issues whatsoever. I’m really glad to hear the method worked for you too—it's such a frustrating problem to deal with.
Now, I’m going to look for that specific part to keep on hand as a backup. That way, if it ever comes loose again, I can replace it with a sturdier one without any hassle.
Sending you a big hug, and thanks again for sharing your experience! Take care 😊

After more than a year of searching for a fix on the repeating keys and trying all other suggestions on the internet, this is the only one that actually worked. Thank you for sharing this information to help other Azoth users resolve the issue.
I hesitated at first to try this solution because I was afraid of causing more problems with the keyboard but when a lot more keys started to repeat, I took my chances and all I can say is it was worth it.

Hi guys! So in your opinion this is definitely a design defect that sooner or later brings problems to all Azoth keyboards?
I had mine a few months ago, the only thing that happened to me was that the "1" was repeated, I changed the switches and thats solved it. I thought it was just a defective switch. Am I condemned? haha It's a great keyboard in general terms, it's a shame that this type of failure.
On the other hand, if I understand right, where the switch fits on the PCB, it opens over time and does not make contact correctly. But I can't tell from the photos where or what it is exactly. Probably when I have to solve it and have to take it apart I will be able to notice it (and I will be very grateful to all of you) but right now I can't tell from the photos.
