Is it possible to save Custom RGB Profiles to ASUS ROG Azoth Keyboard's Onboard Memory?

Hey!

I recently purchased the ASUS Rog Azoth Wireless keyboard, and I’m loving it so far.
I've created a custom RGB profile in Aura Creator and was wondering if there is any way to store this profile on the keyboard's memory so that it stays active when I use it wirelessly with another device that doesn’t have Aura Creator or Armoury Crate.

Right now, when I disconnect my keyboard from my computer and switch to Bluetooth or 2.4GHz mode, I can only select the default lighting effects.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated—thanks!

Hello emilgab,  I saw your lonely post and thought I would commiserate with you.  I have an Asus Azoth and have been looking for the answer to the same problem.  Apparently there are supposed to be six onboard profiles, Default through to Profile 5.  How to access them or indeed how to find any saves is a secret known only to an Asus employee identity not known.  Marvelous keyboard soon to be returned to the supplier as unfit for purpose as It cannot be controlled by use of the supplied software.

Hey Lalec,

Thanks again for the insight. I was also aware of the onboard profiles but I consider them pretty much useless due to the limited customisation for each of them. If I could create custom Aura Profiles and add them to different profiles then this would be incredibly epic. I would be able to connect my wireless keyboard to my different devices (Windows PCs, Mac, Mobile, etc.) and keep a consisting profile without having to worry about Armoury Crate or Aura being installed. I fully understand the need for Aura Creator to be required to create the profiles - which I think works incredibly well to create what I want - but I believe it all is lost once the profiles cannot be stored on the keyboard itself.

This really is a shame because the keyboard itself is one of the better once that I have tested.

However, this limitation really affects my impression on ASUS ROG and I will most likely choose a different keyboard that supports customisation on this level - which I know exists.

In short, I fully agree with you and I think it is unfortunate to hear that others experience the same issue that I have. Hope this will be addressed by Asus.

Sincerely,
emilgab.

Hello guys

Because of the complexity of Aura Creator, we cannot save Aura Creator profiles to the on-board memory.

To access the on-board (preset) lighting profiles, press the Fn key + 1,2,3,4,5,6 keys.

You can create lighting profiles on the ROG Azoth Lighting page and save them to the on-board memory.

Hello Nate152,  I am sorry to hijack emilgab's post but willing horse and all that.  I have discovered that on the ROG AZOTH tab like that displayed in your post, so long as I avoid the Aura Sync symbol listed under Basic Effects I can, in the top far right of the page, access two groups of what I assume are saves.  One is listed under "On-board memory" .  This gives Profile Default through to Profile 5.  Below that list is a heading "Local Storage".  ROG AZOTH 1.  What is it that I am seeing.  When a Aura Creator  profile is saved to the computer where can I find it the actual file?

To come with an interesting observation.

I have been able to connect my keyboard to another computer that does not have Aura Creator or Armoury Crate installed and still keep my Aura Creator Profile. This seems then to me that the profile does indeed get stored on the Keyboard On-board memory but gets cleared under certain conditions, like for example switching to Bluetooth 2.4Ghz.

Sincerely,
emilgab

Hello emilgab,  what and where files of use to this keyboard can be saved is a mystery to me.  That you can save a file created in Aura Sync to your board is interesting.  I assume that when you say connected to another computer without Aura Creator or Armoury Crate you mean connected by USB cable.  Is that right?  For my multi coloured files I have to use Aura Creator and save them to a profile.  For them to display Armoury Crate "Lighting Tab" has to have the Aura Sync triangle highlighted.  If I move the highlight to another symbol such as static, the board changes to a single colour.  I have an MS Slate.  I will give it a try.

Hello emilgab,  It did not work for me.  On connection it went straight into one of the single colour profiles.  I shall raise a support ticket and see if I can get any clarity on what is saved and where.
