Cannot Update Azoth Keyboard in AC (Error 4151 on HAL 1.2.65.0 4-1-2024)

Hello,

I have a brand new and beautiful AZOTH keyboard that as the title says, will not update in Armory Crate. I have tried the steps posted in other threads such as having the switch in wired and having both the USBC cable and wireless dongle inserted in various combinations of ports on my Strix SCAR 17... the Azoth will not update, which means that I cannot access any software based control over it.. such as lighting, etc.

Just for kicks, I did plug it into my Ally Z1E and Armory Crate had no issues downloading updates there.. but there isn't any peripheral software controls available from that version of AC on the Ally...

Is this just a matter of waiting for a new update? It seriously looks like users have been waiting A LONG TIME already for a solution to this issue.

This key board is amazing looking and feeling- I hope Armory Crate isn't a block on keeping it.  I am on the latest version of Armory Crate (5.8.9.0) and have no other updates in MyAsus.

Thanks in advance!

Hello RogueAsgard

Have you updated the wireless receiver to the ROG Omni Reciever?

Download and install the Firmware update, then check Armoury Crate.

If you have any issues after updating, please let me know.

Thank you for the reply 🙂

I did already complete those steps with the Azoth's wireless receiver. I installed the firmware from the website and there was an update that appeared for the Omni receiver in ROG AC afterwards. This did not change the above error however, for the keyboard itself, in Armory Crate. The keyboard works great in Armory Crate for my ROG Ally and I can see lighting, etc there. It's just my Strix SCAR 17's Armory Crate that seems blocked by this error.

Thanks!

RA

(Sorry, for the delayed reply. I was on a tangent cloning my ROG Ally SSD to a new 2TB one as a workaround since the BIOS Cloud Recovery wasn't an option because of the infamous Network Error issue. My SD card reader has stopped working 😉 All good now though. For anyone reading that may also have this issue, I just used Disk Genius to migrate the disk. Super easy, no issues. You don't need an expensive dock or enclosure. Just use the ROG expanded power adapter's USB port and a SSD drive large enough to hold the startup volume. Boom. Power and External Drive)

Ok, so you still have the 4151 error after doing the firmware update.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Armoury Crate.

Uninstall Armoury Crate from windows, then reboot your pc.

In the link below, click Drivers & Tools, Install Armoury Crate version 3.2.9.1 (Recommended) under the Utilities section.
