ASUS ROG AZOTH shuts down as soon as I disconnect cable.

As the title states, my keyboard shuts down as soon as I disconnect the USB cable. The OMNI receiver is paired, the keyboard works amazingly when connected to the USB cable, I can even set the switch to wireless and it connects (right now I am typing while connected through the wireless setting, but the USB cable is connected.)

The dongle is connected to the motherboard, another thing I noticed is that the keyboard can be connected for hours to the USB cable and the battery level will always state 50% CHARGING but the charge would never go up.

I disassembled the keyboard and checked on the ribbons to see if any was disconnected, but all seemed okay. If anyone can help I would definitely appreciate it.

Hello abranchi

It sounds like your keyboard is working normally.

Use your keyboard in 2.4GHz wireless mode, connect the cable only for charging or doing an update in Armoury Crate.

If the charging status is not updating, closing and reopening Armoury Crate should update the charging status. It will take a while to fully charge.

How do I turn it on after it turns off when I disconnect it? I can not for the love of God manage to turn it on unless it's connected to the cable.

Slide the wireless switch on the keyboard to 2.4GHz wireless mode.

Excuse the squiggly arrow.

In the photo:

Left = Bluetooth

Middle = Wired mode

Right = 2.4GHz wireless mode

Thanks for replying to me and trying to solve my problem.

I think I didn't explain what the problem was in a clear way though. My keyboard doesn't turn on unless it's connected.

So if I set it up to wireless mode and disconnected the cable it turns off and doesn't turn on again unless I connect it.

You're welcome

Maybe an issue with the wireless switch? Try toggling the wireless switch back and forth.

If that doesn't help, try the wireless dongle in another usb port, you can use motherboard or pc case usb ports.

It should show you're paired on the ROG Omni Receiver page. You could try clicking the Reset and Pairing button.

The device is paired with the dongle, when I switch the wireless (while the USB is connected) the connection status on the screen does change from the USB symbol to the wireless one, the problem is that it's as if the battery isn't sending any power to the keyboard. Even though it shows 50% charge, the charge never depletes nor increases.

Thank you

Try installing/reinstalling this firmware update, then check the Armoury Crate update center for updates.

To update the firmware and updates in Armoury Crate:

1) Connect the cable to your ROG Azoth and a pc usb port.

2) Set the wireless switch on your keyboard to wired mode (switch set to the center position).

3) Connect the wireless dongle to a pc usb port.

5) Do the firmware update and any updates in Armoury Crate.

6) Test 2.4GHz wireless mode.
