Armoury Crate Gear for Azoth

Hello I recently bought an Azoth Moonlight color and before I would install the software I was wondering if I could customize my oled screen through Armoury Crate Gear and if the software forces me to update the firmware since I'd rather not.

Hello AL96N

You'll want to update the firmware to support the ROG Omni Receiver.

I haven't used Armoury Crate Gear with the ROG Azoth, but the oled display should have some customization. I don't think you can upload gifs with Armoury Crate Gear.

I have installed Armoury Crate but have meet 2 serious problems with it.

1 my cpu temps are insanely high while at idle (80c from 29c)

2 I cannot set my temps on the oled screen no matter what, also the device does not appear in dynamic windows lighting despite having updated everything (keyboard firmware too)

I tried unistalling with the official tool but the oled screen other than setting gifs cannot be used for showing temps.

As I unistalled Armoury Crate using revo unistaller the temps turned back to normal. Had to reset the keyboard holding FN + ESC because the lighting effect was stuck, I'll try re installing Armoury Crate and see if I can optimize the oled screen as my likings.

Small update, keyboard also seems to randomly doubletype (not too much but it seems to happen) right after installing the firmware update.

Anyone facing the same issue?

Hi Al96N, did you use Aura Sync to customize your colors ?

Were you able to set the temp for your cpu and gpu?

Be sure to click Apply.

The ROG Azoth does not support windows dynamic lighting.

Yes I used Aura Creator and Aura Sync but the brightness was too low. I could fix my problem by unistalling the full AC package using the unistalled and re installing AC Gear, after that I opened the app and clicked the 3 dots past Default Profile and then reset all profiles (the reset keys on keyboard would not work) and now my keyboard is bright like a diamond plus the temps are registered and the oled screen does not lag, in fact when I turn the volume up and down I see the percentage instead of the “volume up” or “volume down” text. I found that the temp issue caused by AC was due to fanxpert overriding qfan from bios but I didn’t bother re installing it anyway as asus framework bricks my temps on the oled screen, I built my pc 7 years ago, could be that. Specs are GTX 1080ti i7 7700k and Z270-K.

edit: odd enough AC Gear asks me to firmware update again, but I already did a week ago, not sure if I reverted my KB firmware or it’s a bug.

Try the update, it may have reset the firmware after resetting your keyboard with Fn + ESC keys.

I rather stay away from software update as it gave me double typing issue, now the kb is fine. There is another problem beyond the keyboard, it is with some asus service, whenever I try to have temp information on the oled the idle temps goes up to 70c (I’m using ac gear) and won’t show anything, as I select a gif or swap mode the temps will work fine. Do you know what service is related to temps info? I’d like to inspect further and look for a workaround

Open task manager and see what is putting a high load on your cpu.
