Vulcan ANC Oh no what do I do???

Ok well I've had the V-ANC's for a few months, I think they are one of the most comfortable and quality sounding headsets out there for the money.

The problem I'm having is with the ear pads (i guess that's what they are called?) and they seem to be coming apart. Is there replacement pads? My wife and I both have the same headset and her's hasn't done it yet but her's are maybe 2 months younger than mine...

What do I do? I've attached some pictures for your eye candy viewing pleasure, or displeasure whichever the case maybe. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Since I took the pictures a few days ago, they have since tore apart more. It won't be but a week or two and i won't be able to use them anymore! Ideas please!

ACN is only noise cancelling, it won't affect playing sound as much, only help to cut off from environment's noises 🙂 Have you got Pro version with usb soundcard? if no, probably your problem is with a soundcard on your pc/notebok

Vulcan ACN, not PRO, I have no problems with my Sennheiser 360 GAME neither my SONY MDR-V600 or SteelSeries Siberia V2.
Soundcard: ASUS XONAR Phoebus

EDIT: Just tried to check the cans again, hight's didn't miss out this time, kind of weird.
Still, the Vulcans are far from superior to my other headsets.
My latest tracks sound pretty compressed with the cans https://soundcloud.com/joerg-baermann

Now everybody knows that there is no offical replacement pads. But I searched other brand parts. I have bought MDR 7506 for Sony from AliExpress. It cost 3$ with shipping. A little bit smaller but it fit perfectly 🙂

You are the best! I too went through the disintegrating earpad/earmuff phase with my Vulcan ANC's. I got my Vulcan ANC headset in 2011, but by 2015 the earmuffs finally bit the dust. They lived in a box for a few months while I moped about my loss, but before tossing them out I found this thread. Sure enough, the Sony replacement earpads qzan suggested worked a treat! They took about 2 weeks to get from China, but that's the nature of cheap Amazon tat.

I will say, they do need a bit of breaking in, as they're a bit poofy out of the package and keep the speaker just a -smidge- too far from your ear. However, after a few weeks use they were just fine. Hopefully this thread gets more visibility so that folks know what to order and don't risk giving up on these awesome headphones.

I have bought ATH-M50 EarPads for Audio Technica from AliExpress. It cost 3.10$ with shipping. Imho, they look a little bit better than MDR 7506, and it fit perfectly.

I have had the same problem. Bought a set in December 2012, by June 2014 they were perished, they still sit in vain hope of replacement pads.

The headset can still be bought, the earpads are still perishing for new owners, Asus do not care, seems they will take the money and give you the middle finger when their stuff falls apart.

Seriously, why can they not supply spares? It would seem they cannot, nor do they want to, this would infer Asus clearly have no respect or care for their customers.

I am pretty pissed off at having bought a £70 headset from a company that had a respectable image, just to find out they do not care if the earpads perish, and that they fail to carry replacements. Customers complain, Asus seem to shrug their shoulders.

I have quite a few Asus products, I loved the Asus RoG kit, been using those motherboards since socket 775, and other Asus motherboards elsewhere. Last Asus motherboard I bought was upon the release of the Z87 chipset. I have not bought an Asus product since the earpads perished, as I have lost faith and respect in Asus.

Sure they get good reviews, but behind it all, if they think it is OK for customers to buy headsets, then ignore requests for earpads that are clearly substandard and of poor quality, but hell, they won't care if a customer goes elsewhere, as they will still be pumping out mass produced pap with the Asus logo demanding a premium to the glazed eyed fan base.

Now real companies, when something goes wrong they address it, Silverstone, headphone jack failed on a case, they had one in the post after receiving my email, when you use a Noctua but need a bracket, no worries, issue with Corsair, well in the past the rare issues I had were quickly resolved.

But come off it, a huge company like Asus, selling £70 headsets, but they CANNOT supply replacement earpads?

Asus, you guys have issues.

Well well. Good thing I read this because I was waiting for a promo on the Asus Vulcan Pro at my local store.
They would last longer with me since I'm not a "hardcore" gamer anymore, still I want to buy an headset that lasts more than 3 years.
I'm really disappointed. I like the design, the folding metal system and the nice case that comes with it.
