I have 3 ASUS Theta Headsets and that all have popping and crackling..

Hey there,

I am really trying so very hard to get this product working but I've got three ASUS Theta Headsets in my house and they all appear to be defective, I have 30 days to return them to Amazon before they charge me for them..

Unless these headsets have some serious quality control issues at the manufactures I have three in a row defective headsets..


The first Headset has very loud popping noises when any audio starts and stops, it also pops when someone is talking.

The second Headset has the same issue as the first but if the volume goes up and down it crackles really badly.

The Third headset has the popping noises and chackling too..


I have tried the 00.34 Firmware which doesn't fix the issue, I've also tried reinstalling Armoury Crate and Uninstall and trying Armoury II with no change with the issue..

I've tried these products on my Phone via USB C, my Nintendo Switch in Mobile/Switch mode and they also pop and on another PC using the USB Adapter. I've conncted to my PC via the GPU USB C and the motherboard USB C, I'm quite sure it's not an earthing issue with the computer/s..


Is there anything left to do?

I've read literally hundreds of posts with the same problem, but none of them have a solution and the threads just stops dead in all of them.. Downgrading the firmware didn't help at all.

I made this today too.. Not getting any headway either on a solution, so I'm just sending them back and giving up on them.

Same problem for me, I bought 2 headphones and both have the sound that crackles when a stop sound, music, conversation, video, game menu...
Not pretty for a 300 euro helmet
Did you find a solution please ?

I sent them all back, I think three was enough times to give this a chance..
I was going to get the ASUS Centurion but now I've completely lost faith ASUS headsets, considering there's a mega thread which people have listed all the ASUS Headsets with issues..
