RTX 4090 Matrix Annoying noise (pump full speed always?)

rios0rios0

Hi guys.

I notice some guys are having issues with the noise from the pump in the RTX4090 Matrix Platinum. Even with idle mode, the fans are stopped and the pump keeps in the fullspeed (seems to be that, because there's no way to control the pump via software). So the noise is very very loud when you are with the case on your desk. The guys in the internet have different setups of the pump pipes (positioning) like:

1 - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/19f8bom/weird_pump_noise_from_asus_4090_aio/
2 - Matrix 4090 weird noise(not the coils) : r/ASUS (reddit.com)

The both links below, they are top to bottom (the graphic card is pumping from the top to bottom). But mine, the card is lower than the fans pipe input, so in my case is bottom to top, like my CPU AIO Cooling, it's the same position (bottom to top).

Could you help me please?

Cheers!

Hi @rios0rios0 ,

we are currently verifying this issue with our backend team, and we will inform you of any updates. Thank you.

In the meantime, could you please assist us by providing a video of the graphics card emitting noise, along with the motherboard model, graphics card serial number (please provide via private message), BIOS version, graphics card settings, and system version?
Thank you.

Hi @Aureliannn_ROG, thanks for the quick answer.

So, here are the details requested:
1 - Motherboard Model: ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
2 - Graphics Card Serial Number: ***sent via private***
3 - BIOS version: 2.22.1286
4 - Graphics Card Settings: Default / OC Mode / Silent Mode (GPU Tweak III). Honestly, doesn't matter the settings. It'll aways make the highest noise as possible. The temperature in the time of the video was 28ºC.
5 - System Version: Windows 11 Pro 23H2. OS build 22631.3235. Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22687.1000.0

Video (GPU = 28ºC, MB = 29ºC, CPU = 30ºC):

Waiting to hear back from you. Thank you very much.

Cheers!

Hi @rios0rios0 ,

thanks for providing the information.

We've passed your details on to our relevant backend team for analysis.
Please be patient and wait for any updates or messages from us.
Thank you.

I have same problem as OP. I also posted on reddit. You can also hear this type of noise on youtube video. This noise is 2x times louder for me.

Mine, I can hear outside the case, and even using headphones. I don't have a decibel meter, but I promise you that it's too much noise. It's not a small thing you can ignore inside the case like the video you sent. If you suggest another way of showing how lauder mine is, I can do that, just let me know if you need any other video or something.

I hope they will give us BIOS update to reduce pump speed or give us AC update to control it. Noise is from pump and there is no reason for pump to work 100% when your pc is idle or just doing light work. I can also hear 4090 matrix pump even with my pc case closed. ROG Ryuo III 360 produce same noise but you can lower it in bios.

Any news regarding this problem?
