I have a ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 installed in my system (vertical radiator mount, hoses and fan cable exiting from the bottom).
The card has been working great for about two months, but I’m running into a recurring issue with the radiator fans not spinning.
Here are the details:
The GPU itself and the small fan on the GPU shroud work perfectly fine and stay stable.
The pump operates normally — I can feel the vibration.
RGB lighting on the radiator fans works, meaning power is being delivered.
However, the radiator fans stop spinning because the fan power connector keeps loosening from the GPU-side socket.
I’ve tried pushing the connector firmly back into place, but after a few minutes, it gradually slides out again, and the radiator fans lose power until I reseat the plug.
My radiator is mounted vertically, so gravity might be causing slight pull on the connector and cable.
My questions:
Has anyone found a reliable way to secure this connector?
Would it be safe to use a zip tie, electrical tape, or cable clip to keep it from loosening?
Can I request a warranty repair or replacement?
Since I’m losing time and can’t use my workstation properly, I really need to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
I’ve tried to fix it myself, but it doesn’t help — the connector keeps loosening and the radiator fans stop spinning again after a while.
Any official guidance or RMA (Return/Repair) process would be greatly appreciated.
Everything else on the card works flawlessly — I just want to ensure long-term stability of the fan power connection.
I have not tried to remove the cable completely or disassemble the system — I only checked and gently pressed the connector to ensure it’s seated properly.

I have exactly the same problem!
It's a very poor design of the wire connector to the fan. If you unscrew that bolt and remove the cover, you'll see a small rectangular adapter with two tiny magnets. These magnets are supposedly meant to press the connector against the fan's contacts.
However, they simply sit between the connector and the fan housing, just magnetically attaching to the housing itself... for what purpose? As it turns out, they only interfere with proper contact connection.
This is a very, very poorly designed solution.
