My Config
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K
GPU: ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition 32GB GDDR7 installed at first PCIe 5.0 slot
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi II
RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium RGB 96GB (2×48GB) DDR5 6600MHz CL32 (CMP96GX5M2B6600C32W, XMP enabled)
Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 (Boot) at M.2_2 slot
Sabrent Rocket 4.0 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 at M.2_3
ACER Predator GM7000 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 at M.2_4
My main work is on using ComfyUI, AI content generation for Advertisements, youtube, instagram and sometimes gaming...
Now I have ordered Samsung 9100 Pro 4TB NVMe PCIe 5.0 and will make it Boot But I will be using first M.2_1 slot. I know doing so will make my 5090 run at x8 speed.
Can anybody tell if there is too much performance difference in real time ?
If it is more 5-10% then I will use this pcie 5.0 ssd in M.2_5 slot which is pcie 4.0 and run my 5090 at x16 instead of x8
Then I will consider upgrading motherboard to 890 next year (along with CPU)
