Hello everyone,
I built a PC two years ago without a graphics card, and it worked very well. A month ago, I decided to buy an RTX 4080 Super to play games, and that’s when the problems started.
I constantly experience freezes at the Windows startup when I need to log in. I have freezes when I turn on or off the second screen, and other random but rather rare freezes.
I made sure to properly connect the 16-pin connector to different sockets of the power supply of my ROG-STRIX-850G-WHITE. I changed the power supply, thinking that was the problem, with a ROG-STRIX-1000G-AURA-WHITE-GAMING and the 16-pin PCI-E Gen5 connector, but I still have the same issues…
However, when I play games at max quality in 4K, I have no problems and get between 60-120fps on Starfield, without any freezes…
I updated the BIOS and all possible drivers for the computer, except for one that Armoury Crate doesn’t want to update for the motherboard.
I don't understand...
Here is my configuration:
- ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4
- Intel I9 12900k
- ROG STRIX LC II 360 ARGB
- 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32 Go (2x16 Go)(64Go)
- SSD WD_BLACK SN850 2 To NVMe
- ROG-STRIX-1000G-AURA-WHITE-GAMING
- ROG STRIX Helios White Edition
- ROG-STRIX-RTX4080S-O16G-WHITE
Let me know what you think.
Thank you in advance.
