Connecting a fan hub to the graphics card's fan header

Hello!

I am wondering if it's safe/possible to connect a powered fan hub to the Graphics card's PWM fan header so that the fans can be controlled by the graphics card?

Graphics card: Asus RTX 4090 Strix

Thanks!

Hello Nima1

You wouldn't necessarily need a fan hub, you can connect your fans straight to the 4090 fan connect headers.

Each fan connect header supports up to 1 amp, you can use a splitter to connect more fans as long as you don't exceed 1 amp on each header.

Hello Nate,

Thanks for your reply.

I am trying to connect 3 fans to my GPU so I will need a fan hub for it.

Just wondering if it will be safe to do so?

Thanks

If you have a splitter cable, you should be able to connect two fans to one fan connect header and connect the other fan to the other fan connect header.

On the other hand, I don't see why a powered fan hub wouldn't work.

It will be easier to use the fan hub that I already have. Just wanted to make sure if that'd be safe.

Thanks for your replies!

You're welcome

Feel free to give us an update once you have your fan hub set up and running.
